Paul Rudd Confirmed for Ant-Man

Paul RuddAfter a few days of speculation and jumping the gun by many on the tubes, Marvel has confirmed and announced that Paul Rudd will star in Ant-Man. The movie, which will be directed by Edgar Wright, comes to theaters July 31, 2015!

In the release, Marvel says that they and Wright wanted Rudd long ago.

The casting of Rudd represents the actor that Marvel and Wright had long ago identified as its first choice to play Ant-Man, continuing the studio’s desire to cast actors that bring several dimensions to its onscreen heroes.  The film’s plot is being kept under wraps.

There are numerous versions of the character with many people taking on the identity of Ant-Man. With the inclusion of Ultron in 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, it is speculated we’ll see Hank Pym, the scientist and hero who in the comics created Ultron. That’s all speculation. There are versions of the character who have had greater ties with S.H.I.E.L.D., the organization that has play a prominent role in the Marvel Movie Universe as well as spawned the television show which is airing its first season on ABC.

Rudd can be currently seen in Anchor Man 2: The Legend Continues and has a long acting history.

In 2015, Ant-Man will be joined by Avengers: Age of Ultron which hits theaters May 1, 2015. 2014 brings us Captain America: The Winter Soldier on April 4 and Guardians of the Galaxy on August 1.

BOOM! Studios Announces Curse

Award-winning publisher BOOM! Studios has announced the January debut of its newest horror comic series, Curse, which puts a fresh twist on the werewolf mythology. The title features a creative team who are no strangers to the horror genre: writers Michael Moreci and Tim Daniel, and artists Riley Rossmo and Colin Lorimer.

BOOM! Studios has a long history of publishing some fantastic modern horror, and Curse takes the company back to their roots with a werewolf story unlike any you’ve ever seen.

Laney Griffith is a man who will do anything to save his son from leukemia, but the cost of treatment has broken him financially. When he pursues an elusive murderer in the wilderness of his small, rural community, in the hopes of securing a substantial bounty, Laney is confronted with something he never could have expected: a werewolf. The captive lycan, in human form, turns Laney’s life upside-down, forcing him to confront his haunted past and race against the clock—because the wolf will return, and Laney’s son’s condition continues to worsen. Curse is a story of a family’s survival at all costs.

Curse #1 arrives in comic shops on January 15th with a cover price of $3.99 under Diamond order code NOV130863.
