Vault Comics has announced that it will publish graphic novels based on the Darkest Dungeon series of games developed and published by Red Hook Studios.
Vault’s Darkest Dungeon graphic novels will be written by John Lees, and drawn by Maan House, working in close consultation with Red Hook Studios co-founder and Darkest Dungeon creative director, Chris Bourassa. Lees is known for his writing on acclaimed horror titles like The Nasty and Hotell. Meanwhile, House is known for drawing Dark Souls, based on the bestselling video game, along with other other horror titles like The Cemeterians.
Debuting in 2016, Darkest Dungeon is a gothic roguelike turn-based RPG about the psychological stresses of adventuring, co-created by Chris Bourassa and Tyler Sigman. Players recruit, train, and lead a team of flawed heroes against unimaginable horrors, stress, disease, and the ever-encroaching dark. Widely acclaimed for its gameplay and storytelling, and notorious among gamers for its difficulty, Darkest Dungeon is among the most beloved independent games of the last decade. In 2023, Red Hook Studios, published the sequel, Darkest Dungeon II, which received widespread acclaim.
Vault’s all-new graphic novels will tell a canonical story set in the universe of Darkest Dungeon, revealing new details and introducing new mysteries at the heart of the Darkest Dungeon core mythology. The deal to purchase Electronic Arts by a rogues gallery of villains has officially been completed. Announced in September 2025, Silver Lake Partners, Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund PIF, and Affinity Partners teamed together like the Legion of Doom to complete the deal. Affinity Partners is run by President Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner. Stockholders approved the deal on December 22, 2025.
PIF is the largest insider stakeholder in EA and is rolling over its existing 9.9%. The Saudi PIF has been investing in the video game market since 2022 with minority stakes in numerous companies. They are an investor in Nintendo as an example.
The deal will end EA’s 36-year history as a publicly traded company that began trading with its shares ending its first day of trading at a split-adjusted 52 cents. EA stockholders will receive $210 in cash for each share of EA common stock they owned as of the closing. EA’s common stock has ceased trading and will be delisted from NASDAQ.
One of the partners in this, Silver Lake, is also part of the TikTok takeover deal that’s headed by Oracle. Oracle founder Larry Ellison is helping fund the takeover of Warner Bros. Discovery by his son David Ellison and Paramount Skydance.
As the son-in-law to President Trump, Kushner has been a part of numerous horrible policies including the much discussed redevelopment of Gaza by Trump. Under the first term, Kushner and his wife Ivanka Trump reported between $172 million and $640 million outside income while they served in unpaid roles un the White House. Affinity Partners received billions of dollars from Middle Eastern investors, including $2 billion from Saudi Arabia’s PIF six months after he left the White House.
Saudi Arabia is regularly accused of attempting to wash away the criticism of the regime over human rights abuses, funding of terrorism, and the murder of Jamal Khashoggi. The PIF invested $1 billion in Embracer Group, the owner of Dark Horse among numerous other geeky things. A rumored larger investment in Embracer fell through.

○Revenge of Legends Quest: An inversion of the REALM OF LEGENDS. This full Quest will take place over several weeks, with only its FINAL week’s challenge remaining after this month is over. So Summoners will want to rush to this Boss Fight if they want to play the full (and challenging) experience.
○Retribution of Legends Side Quest: Over four weeks, players will face down the hardest challenges The Contest has to offer, but will be given the upper hand via custom Nodes to ensure this battle feels truly triumphant, not purely punishing. Keep up the fight to earn a free RONAN and take out the final defenders.
○Revenge of Legends Realm Event: Defeat opponents in the Revenge of Legends Quest or Retribution Side Quest.
○Bonus! Defeat a Retribution opponent with a Saga Champion, defeat the final boss in the Retribution of Legends Side Quest, complete a Revenge or Retribution Quest Objective, complete a Target Dummy Objective Tier, and complete the “Revenge is…” or “A Dish Best Served Cold” objectives.

Independent video game company Nitrate Games enters the realm of digital publishing and niche IP development with the announcement of Jay and Silent Bob’s Joint Venture, an adult cozy farm sim that offers fans an opportunity to engage with and play as filmmaker Kevin Smith’s beloved cult classic characters within the digital realm. The announcement was made during Smith’s annual Saturday night Hall H panel at Comic-Con International in San Diego.
The game provides a raunchy new take on a cozy farming game – if those crops were akin to Jay and Silent Bob’s specific cultural tastes. Heading toward its beta testing phase of production, the game is expected to be released in late Spring 2027 on Steam/PC. Players will build, cultivate, and expand their operation, interact with familiar faces, and experience an original story featuring Kevin Smith’s iconic characters.
