A new manga industry organization called theIndependent Manga Alliance announced its formation at the 2026 Comic Con International in San Diego last week.
Beyond highlighting manga through event panels, the organization looks to be putting together a website full of resources, programs, events, and the ability to network, as well as highlighting publishers.
The organization is also teasing an “Indie Manga Futures Lab,” an initiative “supporting bold ideas and new voices through mentorship, resources, and micro-grants.”
The fan-favorite Sonic the Hedgehog: The Blade of Courage manga has finally received an official English translation and there’s only one place to read it: The IDW Publishing App.

AlphaPolis Co., Ltd. has announced its North American print debut, bringing three of its most popular manga titles, later developed into hit anime adaptations, to English-language readers in paperback. The releases will come in waves throughout the summer and fall of 2026, with Volume 1 reaching shelves on July 28, Volume 2 on August 11, and Volume 3 on October 13. The launch spans two of the genres driving North American manga demand, isekai and villainess fantasy, and marks the first time AlphaPolis is publishing its own print editions in the region. The print launch joins existing digital editions on Kindle and the Alpha Manga app, and anime adaptations of all three series streaming internationally on Crunchyroll.

Mobile Suit Gundam RG XARX-ZERO opens this new saga, set roughly 100 years before the events of GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT, telling the beginning of the story and how this world came to be. GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT, picks up generations later in a future shaped by accumulated events depicted in the anime. The anime and game come together for an experience that invites Gundam fans to immerse themselves into this new world and make new choices of their own.
