Marvel reveals more Amazing Spider-Man #1000 Covers

The countdown to Amazing Spider-Man #1000 continues today with new variant cover reveals! On sale September 16, the highly anticipated milestone issue, destined to take its place in comic book history, delivers both a major turning point for Joe Kelly’s run and an incredible lineup of anniversary stories celebrating Spider-Man’s legacy. As fans have been buzzing about online, the landmark issue will feature two main covers, one from each of the current run’s lead artists. Legendary artist John Romita Jr. joins acclaimed illustrator Paolo Rivera for a stunning painted cover, while modern superstar Pepe Larraz delivers a striking traditional piece. Both artists are also contributing variant covers for the issue. Larraz’s variant cover was unveiled last month, while Romita Jr.’s will be revealed next week.

Amazing Spider-Man #1000 will also feature a spectacular lineup of variant covers from some of the industry’s most celebrated artists. Revealed today are a foil variant cover by Ed McGuinness inspired by John Romita Sr.’s Amazing Spider-Man #100 cover, a dynamic new piece by Skottie Young, a stunning cover from J. Scott Campbell, a cover by Ryan Stegman spotlighting the new supervillain Ravage, and the final piece in Lee Bermejo’s acclaimed Amazing Visions cover series.

One of the issue’s special anniversary stories comes from comic book legend Larry Lieber, who helped shape the very foundation of the Marvel Universe, including work on some of Spider-Man’s earliest stories. Lieber teams up with acclaimed artist Giuseppe Camuncoli in “Of Webs and Six-Guns,” a story spotlighted on Camuncoli’s newly revealed variant cover.

Also unveiled are a MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls Variant Cover featuring Peni Parker from the upcoming game and a Marvel Animation Variant Cover showcasing an iconic scene from the original 1967 Spider-Man animated series.

Amazing Spider-Man #1000 features stories written by Joe Kelly, Noah Hawley, Frank Miller, Dan Slott, J.M. Dematteis, Brian Michael Bendis, Larry Lieber, and more. And features art by Pepe Larraz, John Romita Jr., Patrick Gleason, Peach Momoko, Marcos Martin, Humberto Ramos, Stuart Immonen, Giuseppe Camuncoli, and more.

Marvel reveals more Amazing Spider-Man #1000 Details

Marvel has unveiled the main cover for Amazing Spider-Man #1000 by artist Pepe Larraz, along with additional covers and new story details.

On sale September 16, the highly anticipated milestone issue, destined to take its place in comic book history, delivers both a major turning point for Joe Kelly’s current run and an incredible lineup of anniversary stories celebrating Spider-Man’s legacy. The landmark issue will also feature an incredible collection of variant covers from some of the industry’s greatest artists.

Fans can see Pepe Larraz’s stunning main cover and breathtaking new variant covers by esteemed artists Alex Ross, who captures one of Spider-Man’s most defining moments in his incomparable style, and Mark Bagley, whose cover spotlights Spider-Man’s unmatched rogues’ gallery.

New details for some of the many anniversary stories are also revealed, including new promo art covers by Stuart Immonen and Marcos Martin.  Both iconic Spider-Man artists will reunite with fellow Spider-Man legends, Brian Michael Bendis and Dan Slott, in their respective stories. Plus, Patrick Gleason delivers another of his stunning “Web-Head” covers as promo art, and joins screenwriter Noah Hawley in his exciting comic book debut. Finally, visionary creators Frank Miller and Peach Momoko will collaborate for the first time! 

  • “Now I Can Rest” by Dan Slott and Marcos Martin brings readers back to the night that changed Peter Parker’s life in a revelatory and heartbreaking story exploring Uncle Ben’s death.

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Pixar, Marvel Comics is teaming up with the iconic animation studio to create all-new Pixar 40th Anniversary Variant Covers! Featured on select Marvel titles starting in July,  these special homage covers pay tribute to Pixar’s legendary history by reimagining iconic Marvel Comics covers with beloved Pixar characters. These celebratory covers are the latest in Marvel’s Disney-themed homage variant covers, following recent hit collections like Toy Story Homage Variant Covers and Stitch Variant Covers.

For forty years, Pixar has been defined by innovation, imagination and magic! Now see some of today’s top comic book artists blend Pixar’s groundbreaking storytelling with the mighty Marvel mythos! Now, longtime fans and new readers alike can discover Spider-Man’s offbeat, thrilling adventures in four lovingly crafted softcover collections of The Amazing Spider-Man Newspaper Comic from Clover Press. This newest collection features all of the newspaper adventures from 1981 to 1984 – written by Stan Lee with art by Iron Man co-creator Larry Lieber, longtime Airboy artist Fred Kida, and renowned Transformers artist Floro Derythis newest deluxe slipcase editions are coming soon to Kickstarter

Originally remastered and collected by The Library of American Comics in hardcover editions that are now largely out of print, these classic newspaper strips are highly sought after by collectors. Thanks to the success of the first Kickstarter, Clover Press is continuing to republish the series in affordable softcover editions of The Amazing Spider-Man, reprinting each strip just as readers experienced them nationwide, with the full-color Sunday pages integrated with the dailies. Each volume will measure 11″ x 8.5″ in a horizontal format and come housed in a vertical slipcase designed for protection and easy shelving. Backing this Kickstarter campaign will allow readers to get all four volumes in one bundle.

Marvel reveals Marvel Tōkon: First Strike Variant Covers and One-Shot

PlayStation Studios, Arc System Works, and Marvel Games have joined forces to deliver the latest in tag team fighters, Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls! Releasing on August 6, the game drops players into an all-new Marvel Universe packed with reimagined characters and stages, a heart-pounding soundtrack, intuitive gameplay, and jaw-dropping visuals that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

The countdown to one of the biggest milestones in comic book history officially begins! This September, Marvel Comics proudly presents the 1000th issue of Amazing Spider-Man, and is pulling out all the stops to make it one of the grandest comics it’s ever published!

Amazing Spider-Man #1000 will be led by an epic story by Joe Kelly and Pepe Larraz that serves as both a culmination of their work on the title so far AND a pivotal moment that launches into the next phase of their acclaimed run! Then, the giant-size spectacular continues with special anniversary stories by an unprecedented lineup of renowned creators from legendary Spider-Man creators and modern superstars to surprise contributors! The talent includes the likes of John Romita Jr., Frank Miller, Peach Momoko, Stuart Immonen, Brian Michael Bendis, Dan Slott, J.M. DeMatteis, Patrick Gleason, Marcos Martin and, making his Marvel Comics debut, screenwriter Noah Hawley!
