Spider-Man: Brand New Day continues to dominate as it and The Odyssey cross $1 billion
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is the movie of the year right now having taken the top spot at the weekend box office and being the second fastest movie to reach $1 billion ever. The movie dropped 59.7% and still grossed $145 million over the weekend to bring its domestic total to $655.1 million. Internationally, the movie added $438 million over the week and it has grossed $1.010 billion total. In two weeks, the movie has grossed $1.665 billion.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day has the third highest second weekend box office of all time, it has the all-time record for the highest 10-day domestic gross, and it’s the second fastest movie to reach $1 billion.
No movie has ever broken a billion dollars domestically. Star Wars: The Force Awakens came the closest with $936.7 million in 2015. Will this be the first? It’s currently the 10th highest grossing domestically, and 12th worldwide of all time. It’s the top grossing film worldwide in 2026 by over $500 million, and the top grossing domestic film of 2026 by $180 million… and that’s just after two weeks!
In second place was The Odyssey which held on to the spot. It grossed $31.5 million domestically to bring that gross to $461.2 million. Internationally, it grossed $127.7 million to bring that gross to $643.6 million. Worldwide, the movie has grossed $1.105 billion, that makes two films to have crossed the billion dollar mark this week.
One Night Only debuted in third place with $5.7 million domestically. There was no international gross reported.
Super Troopers 3 debuted in fourth place with $4 million. There was no international gross reported.
Toy Story 5 slipped to fifth place with $3.9 million. Domestically, the movie has grossed $470.4 million. Internationally, it grossed $19.4 million to lift that total to $623.6 million. Worldwide, the movies has grossed $1.094 billion.
In comic related movies…
Supergirl grossed around $150,000 domestically over the week and is just under $72.1 million. Internationally, the movie grossed $200,000 over a week to bring that up to $54 million. Worldwide, the movie has grossed $126.1 million.
Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu remained at $177.7 million domestically. Internationally, the movie grossed about $300,000 over the week and is now at $167.4 million. Worldwide, the movie has grossed $345.2 million.
Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Calamity has grossed $4.3 million domestically. Internationally, the movie has grossed $763,798 which makes a little over $5 million worldwide.
Numbers have 30 movies grossing $202,018,103 from 25,774 theaters for an average of $7,838. That is compared to last week’s 54 movies grossing $437,078,260 from 25,010 theaters for an average of $17,476.14.
