X-Men of Apocalypse Alpha #1 Gets a Second Printing
Marvel’s most legendary dystopian future is back! X-Men of Apocalypse Alpha #1 hit stands this past Wednesday, kicking off a six-part event series celebrating the 30th anniversary of Age of Apocalypse, the groundbreaking X-Men epic. Written by legendary scribe Jeph Loeb, one of the creators behind the original event, and drawn by superstar artist Simone Di Meo, the series sees the X-Men of the Age of Apocalypse crash into the main Marvel Universe in a battle for their very existence! The highly anticipated issue sold out and will return with a Second Printing on October 22. The new printing will feature new versions of the issue’s variant covers by Leinil Francis Yu and Joe Madureira, another superstar creator behind the original Age of Apocalypse who makes his grand return to the franchise with variant covers for each issue.
A dystopian future created when Charles Xavier was killed, Age of Apocalypse is home to a war-torn group of X-Men led by Magneto. In order to free their Earth from Apocalypse’s cruel reign, they were willing to sacrifice their very existence-or so they thought! The main timeline was restored, Apocalypse was defeated, but their world lived on! Taking place in the direct aftermath of the original crossover’s explosive finale, X-Men of Apocalypse reignites the mission of this iconic reality’s X-Men as they journey here to ensure their universe’s survival. This desperate mission will take them into the main Marvel Universe, where they will come into conflict with their classic counterparts, forever impacting both team’s destinies!
