Knock at the Cabin knocks out Avatar: The Way of the Water to take the weekend box office

After seven weeks at top, Avatar: The Way of Water has finally been knocked out of the top spot, falling to third. Knock at the Cabin took first place with an estimated $14.2 million/ Internationally, the film also grossed a little over $7 million for a worldwide debut of $21.2 million.

In second place was 80 for Brady which grossed an estimated $12.5 million. There was no international gross reported so far.

Avatar: The Way of Water earned $10.8 million to bring its domestic total to $636.4 million. It also grossed about $42 million over the week to bring its international total to $1.538 billion. Worldwide, the film has grossed $2.174 billion. It is officially #10 for domestic gross with about $17 million to go to move up a spot. Worldwide, the film is in fourth place, about $20 million behind the third place Titanic.

Puss in Boots: The Last Wish dropped to fourth place from the previous weekend’s second with a little under $8 million. The domestic gross is now $151.3 million. It grossed about $24 million over the week internationally to lift that to $217.3 million. Worldwide, the film has grossed $368.6 million.

BTS: Yet to Come in Cinemas rounded out the top five with $6.3 million. Domestically, the film has grossed $9.1 million. No international total has been reported.

In comic film news…

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Scarlet Bond looks like it didn’t make any gains and the domestic total is steady at $1.6 million. Internationally, it also looks like it hasn’t moved and is still a little over $9.7 million. The worldwide total is a bit over $11.3 million.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever held at #17 and grossed $218,000 to bring its domestic total to $453.5 million. Internationally, the film added about $600,000 over the week to bring that to $388.9 million. Worldwide, the film has grossed over $842.4 million.

Black Adam‘s domestic gross looks like it hasn’t shifted and stands at $168.2 million. Over the week the international remained steady at $224.8 million. Worldwide, the film has grossed just under $393 million.

Evangelion: 3.0+1.01 Thrice Upon a Time looks to have ended its run. Domestically, it has grossed $810,744. Internationally, the film gained a little and is now just under $93 million for a worldwide gross of $93.8 million.

The week’s overall box office success…

Numbers have 58 films earning $81,330,333 from 40,930 theaters. That’s a slight improvement from last weekend’s $72,439,907 from 39,195 theaters and 60 films. The average earning was $1,987.06 this past weekend, a bit better than the previous weekend’s $1,848.19.
