Image Comics’ Free Comic Book Day 2021 Titles Include Lady Mechanika and Stray Dogs
Image Comics will participate in Free Comic Book Day 2021—Saturday, August 14—again this year with two special offerings—Lady Mechanika by Joe Benitez and Stray Dogs by Tony Fleecs and Trish Forstner.
New readers interested in testing out the long-running, bestselling steampunk action of Lady Mechanika won’t be disappointed by this action-packed freebie issue. In it, readers follow a young woman during the Victorian Era who is desperately in search of the secrets to her past—a past that left her with extraordinary, but unnatural, mechanical limbs.
The FCBD 2021 edition of Lady Mechanika will include the stand-alone short story “The Demon of Satan’s Alley,” which first introduced Lady Mechanika and her steampunk world (Lady Mechanika #0)—plus a preview of “The Monster of the Ministry of Hell-th,” the newest story by series creator Joe Benitez which will debut this year at Image Comics.
New readers who haven’t yet discovered the Silence of the Lambs meets Lady and the Tramp murder mystery romp that is Stray Dogs will enjoy entering this Don Bluth animation inspired world.
Here readers meet Sophie, a dog who can’t remember what happened. She doesn’t know how she ended up in this house. She doesn’t recognize any of these other dogs. She knows something terrible happened, but she just…can’t…recall…WAIT! Where’s her lady? This FCBD edition will feature a brand new prologue, “That Doggie in the Window”—the unnerving story of the very first dog to ever come to the Master’s house.
