Hellboy and Stranger things are coming to Free Comic Book Day 2024 from Dark Horse

Plan ahead to visit a local comic shop on Saturday, May 4, 2024 for Free Comic Book Day! Dark Horse Comics has two original stories from the worlds of Hellboy and Stranger Things in one awesome comic for the day. The cover for the issue features new artwork by comics legends Mike Mignola and Dave Stewart.

In Hellboy “The Fortune Teller,” a murder investigation leads to a mysterious Romanian fortune teller who is way too interested in Hellboy’s past and future.

Then, in Stranger Things, “Deliver Me from Evil,” Argyle and Jonathan swap fantastical and scary tales as they make one last pizza delivery for the night.

The Hellboy short story is written by Mike Mignola, illustrated by Márk László, colored by Dave Stewart, and lettered by Clem Robins. The Stranger Things short story is written by Derek Fridolfs, illustrated and colored by Jonathan Case, and lettered by Nate Piekos.

Meet the Fifteenth Doctor on Free Comic Book Day 2024

Titan Comics has announced that it is returning to the Tardis once more on Free Comic Book Day, with the release of Doctor Who: The Fifteenth Doctor: Free Comic Book Day Edition. Available in participating comic shops May 4, 2024.

Written by master of sci-fi and fantasy, Dan Watters, this special issue kicks-off an all-new Doctor Who comic series starring the Fifteenth Doctor (Ncuti Gatwa) and his companion in time and space, Ruby Sunday (Millie Gibson).

The launch of the new series in 2024 marks the 10th anniversary of the first Doctor Who comics under Titan Comics. The publisher first started travelling with the Doctor in 2014 and hasn’t stopped since. Now, in its 10th year, Titan Comics will be part of an exciting new era of Doctor Who with the Fifteenth Doctor.

Free Comic Book Day takes place every year on the first Saturday of May. With over two thousand stores and several comic book publishers participating, the event gives readers a chance to grab a free comic and meet fellow comic readers. Readers can find their local participating store H ERE.

Heroic Signatures and Titan Comics have announced that Conan the Barbarian is coming to Free Comic Book Day, May 4, 2024. Written by Jim Zub with art by Jonas Scharf, this issue will launch a Battle of the Black Stone event, which will roll out through late Summer and into the Fall, building on plotlines introduced in the critically acclaimed Conan the Barbarian ongoing series.

The Free Comic Book Day (FCBD) Retailer Selection Committee has selected forty-eight comic book titles for the industry’s most anticipated annual event to take place on Saturday, May 4, at participating comic shops worldwide.

A committee of comic shop retailers chose forty-eight titles to be available on Free Comic Book Day: twelve Gold Sponsor comics and thirty-six Silver Sponsor comics that give fans an opportunity to discover new titles and genres. This year’s selection of Silver Sponsor comics includes beloved franchises such as Star Wars, Monster High, Maleificent, Doctor Who, Street Fighter, and One Piece. Other notable Silver Sponsor titles are available from ABLAZE, Archie Comics, First Second Books, Massive Publishing and more.

The complete listing of all forty-eight FCBD titles, including the twelve Gold Sponsor and thirty-six Silver Sponsor comic books, can be found in the December issue of Diamond Comic Distributors’ PREVIEWS catalog, on sale at comic book shops on Wednesday, November 22.

Free Comic Book Day 2024’s Gold Sponsor Comic Books have been announced

The Free Comic Book Day (FCBD) Committee has selected the twelve Gold Sponsor comic book titles for the comic book industry’s most anticipated annual event: Free Comic Book Day. FCBD is celebrated annually on the first Saturday in May at participating comic book shops worldwide, with next year’s event taking place on Saturday, May 4, 2024.

The participating titles were curated by 10+ comic shop retailers who make up the FCBD Selection Committee. This year’s comic book lineup features something for everyone: from superheroes to movies and video games, beloved franchises and favorites for all-ages. The Gold Sponsor titles come from the industry’s top publishers including Andrews McMeel Publishing, BOOM! Studios, Dark Horse Comics, DC Comics, Dynamite Entertainment, IDW Publishing, Image Comics, Marvel, Papercutz, Random House Children’s Books, and VIZ Media.

The full line-up of this year’s comic books will be released on Thursday, November 16, when thirty-six additional FCBD Silver Sponsor titles are announced. A complete listing of all forty-eight FCBD titles can also be found in the December 2023 issue of Diamond Comic Distributors’ PREVIEWS catalog, on sale at comic book shops on Wednesday, November 22.

Diamond announces exclusive merchandise for Free Comic Book Day 2024

Diamond Comic Distributors has announced the upcoming release of their 2024 Free Comic Book Day (FCBD) PREVIEWS Exclusive (PX) collectible merchandise available during the event on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at participating local comic shops.

Funko headlines this year’s FCBD merchandise with two exclusive collectibles. The PX Invincible: “Think, Mark” Moment POP! Vinyl Figure (FEB239237; SRP $39.99) depicts the bloodied and battered father-son duo of Omni-Man and Mark Grayson as stylized POP! figures on a rocky base. This figure is limited to 25,000 pieces. Also available from Funko on FCBD 2024 is the PX Marvel: X-Men #1 Gambit Comic and Vinyl Figure (DEC228657; SRP $29.99). The POP! Gambit figure stands over 4″ tall and features comic-accurate detailing with a backdrop of Jim Lee’s gatefold cover for 1991’s X-Men #1. Limited to only 12,500 pieces and comes packaged in a special 11” tall, sealed, hard display case.

Bleacher Creatures is offering two exclusive plush collectibles for FCBD 2024. The PX Marvel: Doop Kuricha Plush (JUL239544; SRP $19.99) is an 8” inch, hand-sewn plush toy captured every detail of the powerful mutant; limited to 1,500 pieces. Also available from Bleacher Creatures is the PX Marvel: X-Men: Sentinel Under Attack Plush (SEP238882; SRP $39.99). This 24” plush toy is crafted with durable super-soft fabric and features X-Men Wolverine, Marvel Girl, Cyclops, Rouge, Beast and Storm taking on the gigantic Sentinel. Limited to 1,500 pieces.

GreenLight Collectibles, a premier manufacturer of authentic die-cast vehicle replicas, is partnering with Diamond to create a one-of-a-kind PX Die-Cast Comic Book Delivery Van SEP238587; SRP $8.99), featuring the FCBD 2024 logo! This 1/64-scale vehicle figure is limited to 3,000 pieces. Additionally, the van design is featured in the first-ever FCBD collectible vinyl sticker.

Diamond Select Toys’ PX Star Wars: Shadow Trooper 1/2-Scale Bust (DEC230047; SRP $200.00) features a black-armored Imperial Stormtrooper, made of resin and measuring approximately 10 inches tall. It comes packaged with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity and is limited to only 1,000 pieces.

Surreal Entertainment offers two exclusive collectibles for FCBD 2024. The PX Deadpool Double Sided Fleece Blanket (SEP238421;SRP $26.99) measures 63″ x 45″, comes packaged in a full-color printed collector’s tin, and is limited to 2,000 pieces. Also available is the PX Tin Titans: Spider-Man 2099 Lunchbox (SEP238423; SRP $24.99). Featuring a brushed metal finish, this stylish lunchbox also includes a 10-ounce retro-styled beverage container/soup cup with art of the future Marvel hero and is limited to 2,500 pieces.

From WizKids/NECA is the PX DC HeroClix: Harley Quinn Figure (SEP238431; SRP TBA) which features all-new gameplay and a brand new sculpt.

These PREVIEWS Exclusive collectibles will only be available in extremely limited quantities on Saturday, May 4, 2024 from participating Free Comic Book Day stores.
