Batwoman Gets a New Ongoing Monthly Series in February

If you’ve been reading Detective Comics, you know how big of a role Kate Kane, a.k.a. Batwoman, is playing in training Spoiler, Orphan, Clayface, and even Nightwing, the next generation of Gotham’s heroes.

In February 2017, writer Marguerite Bennett will be tackling a new ongoing monthly series with art by Steve Epting. This is Epting’s first work in 15 years for DC. In February Batwoman gets a Rebirth-themed one-shot with a new first issue in March.

Bennett is joining James Tynion IV on “Batwoman Begins,” a two-issue story arc in Detective Comics. That follows the current “Night of the Monster Men” storyline. Batwoman and Batman discover that the venom from the defeated monsters’ corpses is being sold as a bioweapon. After Batwoman comes face to face with the villain responsible, Batman gives Batwoman a mission that takes her around the world, creating the backdrop for her new solo series.
