Star Wars: The Force Awakens Continues to Smash Records
The record books continue to be rewritten as Star Wars: The Force Awakens shatters records with each day. The film broke Monday and Tuesday’s earning records as the film soared past the $300 million mark.
On Monday the film earned $40.1 million and Tuesday it earned $37.4 million, both are single day records. That brings the film’s earnings domestically to $325.4 million, the fastest a film has ever crossed the $300 million mark.
The film continues to print cash internationally as well and its global cume stands at $689.4 million.
The previous Monday record was $27.6 million and the previous non-opening Tuesday record was $35 million. If the film kept up the pace it would cross the $500 million domestic mark by the end of this coming weekend.
