Preview: Transformers 30th Anniversary SDCC Exclusive
YOU GOT THE TOUCH! YOU GOT THE POWER!
I still can’t tell if this is the greatest thing I’ve ever seen, or the greatest thing I will ever see. Hasbro brings Transformers AND hair metal fans a treat with the Transformers 30th Anniversary Tour Edition Action Figure Collection. Available at SDCC (and later at HasbroToyShop.com) the collection features four Transformers re-decoed as the 80’s hair metal/glam rock band, The Knights of Unicron. The whole set is packed in a roadie case and comes with posters, stickers, a concert ticket, a VIP pass, and a tell-all booklet. An album cover (I assume there’s no album, but that would ROCK) for Look What the Bot Dragged In, featuring such hits as Circuit Breaker, Laser Phaser and Rust Without You, is also included. Oh, four amazingly re-painted Transformers are included too. Each one sporting a unique paint scheme and some pretty metal instruments and concert accessories (i.e wigs and tassels).
This is such an amazing set and makes for great SDCC exclusive. The price point is $185, a little steep, but this is truly a unique item. With such a great concept, I can see myself starring at ebay auction screens with my cursor hovering over the BUY NOW button, and agonizing whether or not to click. I’ll probably click.
