There’s been rumors for a bit that Marvel was looking to put together a massive entertainment package, but those rumors became fact this morning as the comic publisher and entertainment company announced an unprecedented deal with Netflix. The deal will bring Daredevil, followed by Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and Luke Cage to the small screen.

Beginning in 2015, the epic story will unfold of multiple years of original programming on Netflix and introduce us to the heroes and villains of Hell’s Kitchen, New York. There will be four, thirteen episode series and then  all the characters will come together, ala The Avengers, in a mini-series as they form The Defenders.

It looks like the house that the mouse bought is sticking to a familiar roll-out plan, as this follows a similar patter that we’ve already seen from them as far as introducing characters to live-action franchises.
