Taiwanese Comic Companies Seek Government Help
The Taiwanese comic industry is seeking help from their government to expand their reach. They are calling on their government to help them access the Chinese market.
Of around 100 comics and animation companies in Taiwan, only a fifth have a $1,000,000 or more in terms of ready cash to make the necessary investments. They are asking for help training talent, with marketing and in raising capital to expand.
The Chinese market is worth $15.000.000.000 a year. The Taiwanese companies see their expansion into that market as a key move and the right investment to expand. Some animation companies such as Yaox have been able to build and operate their own cinemas to show their films in China and will now create the China Pavilion and Taiwan Pavilion at the World Expo 2010 Shanghai.
