Soaring Penguin Press is coming to Kickstarter!

Isoaring pengiunn recent years, Soaring Penguin Press has become a highly regarded small graphic novel publishers in the UK, with a reputation for showcasing, in glorious print, many of the most talented and innovative comics creators working today.

2015 is poised to be an immensely exciting year. They have their ongoing anthology series, Meanwhile, and six new titles! During one of their recent meetings they broke down the costs of the titles, and it really hit them how much initial investment they needed to make it all happen. It’s important to them that they support their creators both financially and creatively. At the same time, there are many significant costs involved in getting their titles out there long before the books hit the shop shelves. So they are asking for a little help from the amazing comic readers, which will make all the difference, and enable them to continue putting out the kind of graphic novels and comics that people have been crying out for.

This is why, the publishing is starting a Kickstarter campaign to help raise funds for what looks like will be a fantastic year of releases.

This is also the most diverse and varied line-up they’ve ever planned; three of their titles are by unbelievably talented female artists, and they’re also very excited to be introducing some amazing French-language graphic novelists to the English-speaking world for the first time! Among their highlights:

  • Meanwhile, the universally acclaimed comics anthology.
  • The Bizarre Adventures of Gilbert and Sullivan, by Laura Howell
  • The Erotic Adventures of Space Babe 113, by John Maybury
  • To End All Wars (paperback edition), edited by Jonathan Clode and Brick
  • The Black Feather Falls, by Ellen Lindner
  • Perfume of Lilacs, by Samuel Leblanc
  • It’s Hard to be a Girl, by Bach

Backers will be richly rewarded for investing in their graphic novels during the creation stage. As well as being among the first to secure copies of these beautiful titles, they’re putting together a great selection of goodies and bonus options.

They’re the first graphic novel publisher to run a Kickstarter campaign in the UK. They think that this is a great way to ensure that they can do justice to the amazing writers and artists that thry publish, as well as their readers, by continuing to put out the beautiful titles for which they have become renowned.

A Serial Killer is on the loose with a rather large razor…

A hairdresser with a pronounced predilection for extravagant hair sculptures is kidnapped by a sinister gangster – all during the shave of a depressed used-car salesman.
