Canadian Dates Announced For Sailor Moon R The Movie Theatrical Premiere In March

Canadian fans will have this special opportunity to catch the legendary anime film’s big-screen debut at 39 theatres in key cities including Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, Vancouver, Edmonton, and more!

Sailor Moon R The Movie premieres across Canada following a highly successful opening in the U.S. at more than 300 theatres earlier this year; the majority of which were sold-out screenings. The exclusive event also features the Canadian theatrical debut of the original SSailor Moon short, Make Up! Sailor Guardians.  English language dubbed will be offered. Fans attending the Canadian screenings a showing will receive an exclusive Sailor Guardian character art board as a gift with ticket purchase, while supplies last.

Presented uncut and for the first time in North American theaters, Sailor Moon R The Movie features a renowned English language cast already familiar to fans from the VIZ Media-distributed Sailor Moon anime series. Voice actress Stephanie Sheh reprises her leading role of Usagi Tsukino / Sailor Moon, along with actor Robbie Daymond as Mamoru Chiba / Tuxedo Mask. Ben Diskin will voice the role of the film’s villain, Fiore.

In the film, long before Mamoru found his destiny with Usagi, he gave a single rose in thanks to a lonely boy who helped him recover from the crash that claimed his parents. This long-forgotten friend, Fiore, has been searching the galaxy for a flower worthy of that sweet gesture long ago. The mysterious flower he finds is beautiful, but has a dark side – it has the power to take over planets. To make matters worse, the strange plant is tied to an ominous new asteroid near Earth! Faced with an enemy blooming out of control, it’s up to Sailor Moon and the Sailor Guardians to band together, stop the impending destruction and save Mamoru!

The Sailor Moon anime series is inspired by the bestselling manga series created by Naoko Takeuchi. In the series, Usagi Tsukino is a clumsy but kindhearted teenage girl who transforms into the powerful guardian of love and justice, Sailor Moon. Meeting allies along the way who share similar fates, Usagi and her team of planetary Sailor Guardians fight to protect the universe from forces of evil and total annihilation!

Sailor Moon R The Movie will be released on Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack and Standard DVD Sets in late Spring 2017.

Sailor Moon R: The Movie, In Theaters for a Limited Time in January

Sailor Moon R Movie LogoToei Animation Inc. and VIZ Media teams with Los Angeles-based film distribution company, Eleven Arts, to present the U.S. premiere of Sailor Moon R: The Movie in a series of special limited engagements in late January at more than 300 theaters across the U.S.

The exclusive event also features the North American theatrical debut of the original Sailor Moon short, Make Up! Sailor Guardians.

Screenings will be offered English dubbed, with select screenings in Japanese with English subtitles (please check theaters for info). A special Sailor Moon bonus gift will be given to ticket holders at the screenings while supplies last. A comprehensive list of participating theater locations and advance ticket purchase will be listed soon.

Male Sailor Moon Crashes Trump Rally

What does Sailor Moon have to do with the Presidential election? Who knows! But, in a year where things are more surreal than serious the above video shouldn’t really surprise me at all.

Artist/comic Bootymath decided to head to a Donald Trump rally, proceeded to strip down in to a Sailor Moon outfit and begin to chant “USA. USA. USA.” Why? Not quite sure.

Also not sure if it was the outfit, the patriotism, or the filming, but he and his friends were escorted out of the rally by security towards a designated protest area outside the building.

Can things get weirder? Sound off in the comments as to who you’d dress as and what Presidential candidate rally you’d go to and why.

Sailor Moon Crystal Comes to Hulu with a New Dub in November

All episodes will be available to stream with a Hulu subscription for $7.99 per month with limited commercials or $11.99 per month with no commercials on all Hulu-enabled devices. Episodes will also be made available to stream on laptops and PCs on the free Hulu.com.

The greatest magical girl anime series of all time continues in the second season of the original Sailor Moon. Fans can expand their home media collections with 22 uncut episodes, presented on Blu-ray and loaded with many never-before-seen extras. Uncut English dubbed as well as Japanese subtitled dialogue options are available on both formats. Sailor Moon R is rated “TV-PG.”

In Sailor Moon R, Usagi and her friends return to their normal lives after their epic battle, but the Sailor Guardians are called back into action when powerful new enemies appear.
