Get a first look at Top Cow’s Animal Rights/Environmentalism Crime/Mystery one-shit A.R.C. Animal Rights Collective

Top Cow Productions has announced a new crime/mystery one-shot surrounding the subject of animal rights and environmentalism called, A.R.C. by Matt Hawkins, Paul Feinstein, Ryan Cady, Atilio Rojo, and Troy Peteri and featuring cover art by Stjepan Šejić.

A.R.C. Animal Rights Collective, is a concept developed by co-founder of Fine Stone Entertainment and travel journalist Paul Feinstein, who has written for a myriad of publications and media companies including Travel + Leisure, The BBC, TIME, and NBC/UNIVERSAL.

With Top Cow’s President Matt Hawkins at the creative helm, Feinstein and the team uses the medium of fictional sequential storytelling to take readers into the world of animal rights and asks a very simple question: How do we stop illegal wildlife trading, mass extinctions, and preserve the sanctity of the natural world? The answer is A.R.C., led by wildlife champion Noah Eran who is an animal rights defender by day and animal rights vigilante by night. When the law can’t take down the corruption, Noah’s A.R.C. can.

Pop Tate serves up fresh terror in all-new one-shot!

Archie Comics mainstay Pop Tate, proprietor of Riverdale’s world famous burgers-and-milkshakes diner, has some sinister secrets! The horrors hidden beneath this wholesome small town hot spot will be revealed in Chilling Adventures Presents… Pop’s Chock’lit Shoppe of Horrors, a one-shot anthology from the Archie Horror imprint, on-sale in March!

In a trio of new terror tales, a dark side of Pop is revealed as he exacts revenge on ne’er-do-wells when most of Riverdale is asleep and safe at home. The collection includes “Night Shift” by Ryan Cady and Chris Panda, “Soylent Teen” by Eisner nominee Jordan Morris and Liana Kangas, and “Die-and-Dash” by Amy Chase and Federico Sabbatini.

The new one-shot hints at a fascinating continuity with earlier Archie Horror comics, and that Pop may have something to do with the terrible events plaguing this version of Riverdale since the zombie invasion detailed in Afterlife with Archie nearly ten years ago. The writers contributing to Pop’s Chock’lit Shoppe of Horrors all spoke to the imprint’s legacy in the horror genre.

Pop’s Chock’lit Shoppe of Horrors, with an open-to-order variant cover by Francesco Francavilla, colors by Matt Herms and lettering by Jack Morelli, releases March 22 in comic shops.

Poppy and Z2 Comics unite again for Poppy Presents: Tit Tat

Z2 Comics has announced Poppy Presents: Tit Tat, the third collaboration between the musical auteur and publisher. Whereas the two previous graphic novels starred the breakout metal/punk/pop pioneer as the lead antihero, this new outing features an original story and characters created by Poppy

The graphic novel revolves around Lydia, a teenager with mysterious psionic powers. Her only tether to reality is her best friend—amateur rockstar Marigold Sykes, who’s barely better at navigating bullies and boy trouble. But when local girls start disappearing, can Lydia and her freak talents offer new hope? Or will her growing rage burn all bridges, leaving tears and regret?

Due in Spring 2023, the graphic novel reunites Poppy with co-writer Ryan Cady who collaborated with the musician on Poppy: Genesis 1 and Poppy’s Inferno, and Norzine Lama, who provided art on the latter sequel. Norzine also provides cover art.

Z2 Comics and Poppy present Tit Tat in standard hardcover and deluxe hardcover editions, set to release Spring 2023. The deluxe hardcover will come with three art prints from Alexandria Walsh and Andrea Yewon. Oversized platinum editions will come signed by Poppy and come with an elegant slipcase, the art prints, a charm bracelet, and a personal letter written by Poppy.
