Mondo Enters a New Music Dimension with the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Soundtrack on Vinyl

Mondo, Hollywood Records, and Marvel Music, continue their MCU soundtrack series with the premiere vinyl pressing of Danny Elfman‘s score to Marvel Studios’ Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Director Sam Raimi and composer Danny Elfman have been long-time collaborators (since 1990’s Darkman) but it’s their combined efforts on the original Spider-Man trilogy that helped define the visual language of modern superhero filmmaking as we know it today. With Marvel Studios’ Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the two are teaming up for the first time in nearly a decade.

Featuring all new artwork by Florian Bertmer, and pressed on 2x 180 Gram Mondo Webstore exclusive color vinyl (also available on 2x 180 Gram Black vinyl), Marvel Studios’ Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be available for pre-order at MondoShop.com on Wednesday, May 11.

Broken Social Scene & Z2 Comics Celebrate the 20th Anniversary of You Forgot It in People with New Graphic Novel, “Lover’s Spit” Vinyl & Cassette

Z2 Comics celebrates the most crucial indie album of the new millennium with Broken Social Scene: You Forgot It in People, The Graphic Novel. Paralleling the confluence that led a community of Toronto musicians to craft a winding audio epiphany, this project unites one writer and 13 artists to create a series of intertwining vignettes inspired by the landmark 2002 record, You Forgot It in People, on its 20th anniversary. Overseen by Broken Social Scene’s Kevin Drew, Justin Peroff and Brendan Canning, writer Lonnie Nadler joins Eric Orchard, Scott Chantler, Ray Fawkes, Mike Feehan, Diana Nguyen, and more artists to be announced for a fully Canadian sequential art jam session.

Within these pages, a collection of seemingly disparate strangers’ lives weave in and out of each others’ orbits, touched equally by the mundane and unexplainable. The meta of music and people and ideas harmonizing together shifts to a new medium for this touching and ambitious graphic novel.

To commemorate the anniversary, the band is also releasing a 10-inch vinyl of “Lover’s Spit”—featuring both versions from, respectively, You Forgot It in People and b-sides collection Bee Hives. Broken Social Scene will also release an original tape cassette, a collection of unreleased instrumental compositions that will take the listener on a sonic journey.

Z2 and Broken Social Scene present You Forgot It in People, The Graphic Novel in both softcover and hardcover formats, as well as oversized hardcover deluxe, and an oversized hardcover deluxe edition hand-signed by members of the band. Renee Nault provides cover art. Deluxe editions include gallery-ready prints capturing various incarnations of the band, courtesy Eric Orchard (2018), Ray Fawkes (2003), Diana Nguyen (2004), and Adrienne Tollas (2001), as well as the Lover’s Spit 10-Inch Vinyl and cassette tape. Angels & Airwaves and Z2 Comics Announce a New Graphic Novel, Lifeform: Vivian

Z2 Comics has announced a collaboration with space rock pioneers Angels & Airwaves and creative studio Tension Division to present the psychedelic story inspired by AVA’s 2021 album, Lifeforms, to a new graphic novel—Lifeform: Vivian. Co-written by Helen Mullane and drawn by Amilcar Pinna with lettering courtesy Ed Dukeshire, the graphic novel will unspool the tale behind the mysterious woman seen on the cover of the band’s sixth studio LP as she wanders from the New Mexico desert into the life of a low-level government employee, Victor. The pair ignites a tentative romance as their world erupts in chaos, with secret agents following Vivian’s every move, as events erupt around the amnesiac woman that defy explanation.

Z2 and Angels & Airwaves present Lifeform: Vivian in both softcover and hardcover formats, as well as oversized hardcover deluxe, and an oversized hardcover deluxe edition hand-signed by Tom DeLonge. Amilcar Pinna provides cover art with designs by Tension Division. Deluxe editions include an exclusive embroidered patch, dog tag, access badge, dossier with documents and photos, Lifeforms Mystery Box by Breakout Games, and gallery-ready prints courtesy Tension Division, Morgan Beem, and Amilcar Pinna, as well as a new vinyl release of Lifeforms. Mondo Reveals The Batman Original Motion Picture Soundtrack

This week, Mondo continues its ongoing DC soundtrack series with one of the most anticipated scores of the year: Michael Giacchino‘s masterful new score to The Batman. Nearly two hours of music, in which Giacchino flexes his prowess – after decades and nearly two dozen takes on the character and the music of his world, it should be impossible to tackle the world’s greatest detective with something fresh and iconic. But here we stand, and the soundtrack to THE BATMAN is as essential as the film itself.

Featuring original artwork by Henry Abrams, and housed in a spot-varnished tri-fold sleeve, and pressed on 3x 180 Gram vinyl.

Titles will hit The Mondo Record Shop on Wednesday, 3/09 at 12PM CT.
