Mayfair Games’ Star Trek: Five Year Mission

ALERT! You and your fellow crewmates must cooperate to resolve dangerous situations that threaten to destroy your ship. If you fail, you all lose. Solving threats is the way you score points for your crew and win the game.

Star Trek: Five Year Mission is a new cooperative game for 3-7 crewmates created by David E. Whitcher and Mayfair Games. The game plays in 30-45 minutes, and will retail for $35.

Gen Con 2015: Mayfair’s Catan: Big Game 2015- Don’t Miss Your Chance at History Again

Gen Con 2015: Mayfair Games’ Five Year Mission: Don’t Miss Your Second Chance to Meet a Legend

Now at Gen Con 2015, Star Trek fans will again get to meet one of their idols, Marina Sirtis. We’ll be holding another Warp Speed tournament, this time playing Five Year Mission, Mayfair Games’ latest cooperative Star Trek game. And once again, we’ll be benefiting the official Gen Con charity, the Julian Center.

Five Year Mission is the amazing, cooperative dice game that allows a team of players to take the roles of crew from the U.S.S. Enterprise, seen in the original Star Trek, or the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise-D, seen in Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Mayfair Games’ lsle of Skye: From Chieftain to King out this Summer

MFG3509-cIsle of Skye, one of the most beautiful places in the world: Soft sand beaches, gently sloping hills, impressive  mountains: the landscape of Isle of Skye is breathtaking and fascinates everyone.

In this tile-laying game 2 to 5 players are the chieftains of 5 famous clans. The players try to build their little kingdoms to score as many points as possible. But in each game only 4 of the 16 scoring cards will be scored. Each game is different and leads to different tactics and strategies.

To have enough money is useful in all games: In each turn the players can buy a tile from another player. The seller determines the price, but to do it wisely is the most interesting part of this game: A high price will lead to wealth, if someone buys this tile, but if there’s no buyer, the seller will lose the money spend on this tile.

And in the end the player with the best kingdom will become the sovereign of the island, not the richest player!

Isle of Skye is a gateway game for the whole family. With a playing time around 45 minutes , a huge variability and easy rules it’s a perfect game for all players. The awesome illustrations by Klemens Franz brings all the atmosphere of the Scottish island on your table.

Kicking off the 20th anniversary of Catan with the Catan Rickshaw Run

mayfair-games-logo2015 is the 20th anniversary of Klaus Teuber’s masterpiece: Catan! Mayfair Games, Kosmos Verlag and Catan GmbH have a lot of amazing worldwide activities planned for this historic year and their first offering is the Catan Rickshaw Run!

Join Mayfair Games, Kosmos Verlag and Catan GmbH for the Catan Rickshaw Run! The worldwide festivities kick off April 6 in Jaisalmer, India where a 10-person Catan Team will set out on an epic 2700 km (1677 mile) trek across beautiful and historic northern India. Traveling in four motorized rickshaws, each representing one of the classic Catan player colors, the team will drive for two weeks through Jaipur, Agra, Kanpur, Varanasi, Patna, Siliguri and Guwahati en route to its destination in distant Shillong.

The Catan Team will include four members from Mayfair Games, two from Kosmos Verlag of Stuttgart, Germany and four members from Catan GmbH of Rossdorf, Germany. An international crew, the team is composed of four Americans, five Germans and one French citizen.

And the best part of all- it’s all in support of two great causes: Childaid Network and Cool Earth!

Extra Extra, a late March Release from Mayfair Games

In March, Mayfair Games releases a game by Andrew Bond, Extra! Extra!. The worker placement/bidding game is designed for 2-5 players ages 12 and up and should last 90-150 minutes.

Stop the presses! Stories are coming in from around the world, but you have a limited amount of money, a few reporters, and a race against all the other newspapers to get your publication out first!

Stories require writing and photos, but advertising, headlines, interviews and features will all help boost your attention and your reputation!

Players place their reporters to claim stories, fit their stories into their paper’s layout, and get money from advertising or extra stories. Other reporters can bump yours if they have more money, so keeping a few dollars around will be helpful. Your newspaper has a specialty, so stories that match your readership will earn you more points. If you’re the first to press, you’ll score more points, but the best stories and the most complete newspaper will be the winner!

Deluxe Edition of The Cones of Dunshire Comes to Kickstarter

cones of dunshireCone Hill Games, in conjunction with The Architect and the enthusiastic fans at Tilton and Radomski Accounting, want to bring the Deluxe Edition of The Cones of Dunshire to life–with our help!

Encouraged by the success of the first edition of the game, Cone Hill Games (makers of fine wood and wrought-iron amusements) want to produce the largest, most impressive version of the game possible. This wonderful, deluxe version of the game will include the spectacular new characters developed for the very special version of the game played in Indianapolis at the Gen Con 2014 charity event.

And Now, Some Notes From the Accountants on the Components

Everything about this version of the game is designed to be impressive. The multi-level board will be over ten square feet in size, featuring artwork by Jared Blando. There will be more cards than you can shake a handcrafted artisan stick at. There will be components galore, to punch and explore! Imagine yourself punching out five or perhaps six sheets of the finest die-cut chipboard. Imagine seeing all of your favorite Dunshire characters rendered in 2d.

One might say, “Collect all 17,” but here they are, all in one box. Take a second to think about each of them, who they are, and what they mean for you: Wizard, Maverick, Arbiter, Corporal, Warriors, Dragon, Alchemist, Provost, Denier, Shaman, Abbott, Brinksman, Farmer, Duchess, Mountebank, Minstrel, and Tradesman. We will soon be showing art from Aaron J. Riley and others as we proceed.

Each character has a Character Sheet with all their absurd variety of powers, and to top it off we’re providing you with three of each so that multiple players can enjoy an infinite combination of character power combos (please note that this is hyperbole, but trust us, it’s a big number). You will have hero tokens and civilization tokens to impress your friends and relatives.

Dunshire is a dangerous place and with danger there is conflict. The Front of Traganaro piece shows where a never-ending combat roils, as the battle line is pushed back and forth across the land.

The deluxe edition is pricey, but you can pick it up through Kickstarter.
