BOOM! Studios Announces Day Men #3 Release Date and Retailer Promotion

BOOM! Studios has announced a special retailer promotion tied to the March 5th release of Day Men #3, the breakout series by Matt Gagnon, Michael Alan Nelson, and Brian Stelfreeze about humans who act as protectors for vampires. The top 50 retailers who order Day Men #3 will receive one free signed copy each of the upcoming Day Men: Pen & Ink #1, the first in a new, limited line of publications designed to spotlight some of the comic book industry’s best creators and their work on BOOM! titles. Retailers who qualify for this promotion will be the first individuals to get an advance look at BOOM!’s Pen & Ink program.

Day Men: Pen & Ink #1 will feature uncolored line work from issues #1 and #2 of Day Men by artist Stelfreeze, along with annotations from he and writers Gagnon and Nelson in an oversized 11” x 17”, saddle-stitched, prestige presentation. Retailers have until the end of the day on Monday, February 10th to finalize their orders for Day Men #3.

In Day Men #3, war continues to rage throughout the vampire underground, as David Reid’s role as a Day Man for the Virgo family comes into question. And a game-changing secret is uncovered that could turn the tide of the war, but in whose favor? David will have to survive the day to find out.

Day Men #2 Sells Out, BOOM! Studios Rushes to Second Printing

BOOM! Studios has announced that Day Men #2, the vampire noir series from writers Matt Gagnon and Michael Alan Nelson and featuring Brian Stelfreeze’s first sequential storytelling work since 2005, has sold out at the distributor level. This follows the quick sellout of the first printing of issue #1. BOOM! is rushing to a second printing.

Day Men is the latest BOOM! Studios original series to see success beyond the first issue.Copies of the series may still be found at the local comic shops.

For thousands of years, the world has been controlled by the “50 Families”—a secret network of vampire covens engaged in a timeless struggle for power. But when the sun rises, the vampires are forced to employ the services of a human who acts as their daytime fixer and protector. BOOM! Studios Comes Out in Full Force for Mike Carey’s Only U.S. Convention: Baltimore Comic-Con

Garfield_17_CVR_BaltimoreBOOM! Studios continues its 2013 convention tour with a return to Baltimore Comic-Con from Saturday, September 7th through Sunday, Sunday 8th. The publisher will be bringing along a pair of exclusive variant covers along with fan-favorite talent.

BOOM! Studios is honored to host luminary author Mike Carey at its booth, #1303, for signings throughout the show for his only United States comic book convention appearance in 2013.

In addition, KaBOOM! Studios is equally excited to welcome Natasha Allegri, Mike Holmes, Noelle Stevenson, Ian McGinty, Travis Hill, and Allison Strejlau signing and sketching at the KaBOOM! Studios booth all weekend long. The publisher will also be hosting Paul Jenkins, Brian Stelfreeze, Matt Gagnon, Mike Kunkel, and Eric Esquivel throughout the weekend along with signings by Archaia creators, including David Petersen and Charles Soule.

Newly acquired imprint Archaia Entertainment will be on hand at the BOOM! Studios booth with a section devoted entirely to their titles.

Eisner Award-winning writer Mike Carey’s work spans comics, novels, film, and television. Carey made his initial impact in the U.S. comic market with the longest running and most successful SANDMAN-related spinoff series from Vertigo: LUCIFER. Since then, he’s solidified himself as a nuanced, character-driven creator on other critically acclaimed Vertigo series such as CROSSING MIDNIGHT and THE UNWRITTEN; while becoming a mainstream fan favorite on series like X-MEN and ULTIMATE FANTASTIC FOUR. This year, Carey launched his first ongoing, original series from an independent publisher: SUICIDE RISK from BOOM! Studios. Join BOOM! Editor-in-Chief Matt Gagnon as he moderates a lively discussion with Carey about his career, his process, and his inspirations.

Freelancers #1 Sells Out, Goes to Second Print

BOOM! Studios is proud to announce that Freelancers #1 has sold out and was sent to a second printing before its release on November 7th.  Comic book fans may still find copies at local comic shop near you.

Freelancers, the newest original series from BOOM! Studios, features a main story by writer Ian Brill and newcomer artist Joshua Covey and a special backup story by co-creators Matt Gagnon and Felipe Smith. The full debut issue of this series carries a cover price of only one dollar. Freelancers #1 second print will be available for order from Diamond Comic Distributors the second week of November.
