Marvel’s Pride Variant Covers Return in June. Get a Look at What’s Coming to Shelves

Marvel’s Pride Variant Covers return in June. This year’s collection consists of five stunning covers of LGBTQIA+ Marvel characters drawn by Luciano Vecchio in his signature character spotlight variant cover style.

Here are the five characters featured this year:

  • Felicia Hardy, A.K.A. BLACK CAT, Marvel’s slyest and most skilled super-thief, currently starring in an acclaimed solo run by G. Willow Wilson and Gleb Melnikov.
  • Akihiro, the lethal mutant warrior and son of Wolverine, now bonded with the Spirit of Vengeance and raising hell in Inglorious X-Force by Tim Seeley and Michael Sta. Maria as HELLVERINE.
  • HELA, the Asgardian goddess of death who—after seizing Knull’s throne and building a fearsome symbiote army—now headlines Queen in Black, this summer’s epic crossover event from Al Ewing and Iban Coello. 
  • Bobby Drake, A.K.A. ICEMAN, founding X-Man and Omega-level mutant, currently using his unmatched experience and power to guide mutantkind in X-Men United by Eve L. Ewing and Tiago Palma.
  • KITTY PRYDE, one of the X-Men’s most dedicated leaders, who also stars in X-Men United as headmistress of Emma Frost’s new Graymatter Lane, the next evolution of mutant education.

Heroes Suit Up to Overthrow the King in Black in Knullbuster Variant Covers

This summer, Hela isn’t the only one coming for Knull’s throne. New Knullbuster Variant Covers introduce the King in Black’s worst nightmare: five iconic Marvel heroes donning symbiote slaying armor! The new covers come from some of the industry’s boldest artists including Luciano Vecchio, Gurihiru, David Baldeón, Clayton Crain, and Zulema Scotto Lavina. The pieces reimagine Black Cat, Doctor Doom, Jeff the Land Shark, Punisher and Deadpool in cosmically enhanced suits specifically designed to end Knull’s latest reign of terror!

Queen in Black, a new crossover event from Al Ewing and Iban Coello, launches this July. Knull and Hela’s conflict erupts across the cosmos, coming to a head on Earth where Marvel’s heroes are all that stand in the way of the world being torn asunder by the forces of Light and Dark, both bent on enveloping the universe in their own brand of nothingness. Tegan Quin of Tegan and Sara Debuts with Marvel in the Upcoming Price Special, Wiccan & Hulkling: Raid of Ultron!

Musician Tegan Quin of the Grammy-nominated pop duo Tegan and Sara will write a story in Wiccan & Hulkling: Raid of Ultron #1, Marvel’s annual Pride special hitting stands on May 27. The singer-songwriter, who makes up one half of Tegan and Sara with her twin sister Sara, will write a story starring Marvel’s own twin super heroes, Wiccan and Speed.

This year’s one-shot spotlights family with stories centered around Scarlet Witch, Vision, Wiccan, Hulkling and more. A longtime advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community, Tegan brings her expertise in an epic team-up tale that tackles the complex relationship between Billy Kaplan and Tommy Shepherd, Young Avengers and twin sons of Scarlet Witch and Vision, exploring their differences and unique perspectives as they battle Ultron!

Announced last month, Wiccan & Hulkling: Raid of Ultron #1 brings together an incredible lineup of superstar LGBTQIA+ talent and rising stars, including stories by Wyatt Kennedy, Josh Trujillo, Luciano Vecchio, Zoe Tunnell, Rachael Stott, Bradley Clayton, and more!
