Matt Wagner, Kelley Jones, and José Villarrubia’s Dracula Book 1: The Impaler

This October, Dark Horse Comics will publish Dracula Book 1: The Impaler, a bold and terrifying secret history of the world’s most famous vampire from writer Matt Wagner, artist Kelley Jones, colorist José Villarrubia, and letterer Rob Steen. The project marks the first ever collaboration for Wagner and Jones, two legendary comic book creators and longtime friends. The book, which began as a crowdfunding sensation on Kickstarter, will now be available in comic shops and bookstores in time for Halloween 2024.

The first of four planned volumes, Dracula Book 1: The Impaler explores the legendary Count before his debut in Bram Stoker’s iconic novel—from his first foray into the dark arts to his rise to lord of the undead! The series of books will fill in these tantalizing gaps to provide a terrifying portrait of Vlad Dracula, with Dracula Book 1: The Impaler exploring Dracula’s bloody history and his tenure at Satan’s legendary seminary of the dark arts, the Scholomance.

DSTLRY reveals new incentive covers for White Boat, Gone, and Somna

DSTLRY has revealed eleven covers for three upcoming issues all releasing in Spring 2024.

New series debut White Boat #1 by longtime collaborators Scott Snyder and Francesco Francavilla leads the charge on March 27th with open order and incentive variants that preview the Lovecraftian horrors within:

  • Cover A – Francesco Francavilla – Open Order
  • Cover B – Kelley Jones (Batman, The Sandman) – Open Order Variant
  • Cover C – Rafael Albuquerque (American Vampire, Blue Beetle) – 1:10 Incentive Variant
  • Cover D – Keyla Valerio (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Stranger Things) – 1:25 Incentive Variant
  • Cover E – Junko Mizuno (Pure Trance, Ravina the Witch?) – 1:50 Incentive Variant

From the acclaimed team behind Detective Comics and Night of the Ghoul comes a modern horror classic! White Boats are the mega-yachts that the super-rich use to traverse the globe—floating islands where your every desire can be fulfilled. And getting invited on board one should be a dream come true…that is until the crew traps and transports you to a remote island where secret cults have existed for millennia, working on something called “The Human Project.” Does the White Boat ship you to paradise or sink you into hell on earth? WHITE BOAT reunites Scott Snyder, the visionary writer who redefined comic book dread with Wytches and introduced Batman into a terrifying, cerebral era, with modern noir master Francesco Francavilla for a white-knuckle descent into Lovecraftian maritime madness!

Somna #3 also releases on March 27th from writer/artist duo Tula Lotay and Becky Cloonan, bringing the haunting erotic thriller to its gripping climax:

  • Cover A – Becky Cloonan – Open Order

  • Cover C – Emma Ríos (Pretty Deadly, Amazing Spider-Man) – 1:10 Incentive Variant
  • Cover D – Anwita Citriya (Yuuko’s Gloomy Days) – 1:25 Incentive Variant
  • Cover E – Pernille Ørum (DC Superhero Girls, Hit-Girl) – 1:50 Incentive Variant

The mystery of who killed Harald is finally solved, but is it too late for Ingrid to escape the harrowing clutches of the ethereal and deadly “Shadow Man”? More importantly, does she even WANT to escape, or has her new-found sexual awakening made it impossible to ever return?!

From the masterful minds of Becky Cloonan and Tula Lotay comes an intoxicating blend of history, eroticism, and the supernatural in SOMNA—an evocative masterpiece that draws inspiration from folk-horror staples like Midsommar and The Witch, and will transport readers to a world where passion and spirits intertwine, captivating your senses and leaving you craving more.

Beautifully written and drawn by JOCK, GONE comes to its heart-rending conclusion!
