VIZ Media & ComicsPRO Release Exclusive Hello Kitty Graphic Novel

comicspro logoVIZ Media and Sanrio Inc. announce a special single-volume edition of Hello Kitty: Fashion Music Wonderland, available exclusively through ComicsPRO member stores and featuring an exclusive full color variant cover by artist/illustrator Victoria Maderna.

The special edition of Hello Kitty: Fashion Music Wonderland will be available to retailers that are ComicsPRO members exclusively through Diamond Comic Distributors. The volume will be released November 5th and will carry an MSRP of $6.99 U.S. / $7.99 CAN.

ComicsPRO provides a strong voice on important industry issues, educational and mentoring opportunities to current and future retailers, and works to improve business for all of its members and the comics industry as a whole.

The Hello Kitty: Fashion Music Wonderland comic will feature art by Victoria Maderna, Ian McGinty and Eisner-nominee Jacob Chabot. A separate Hello Kitty® original graphic novel series is also scheduled to launch October 1st. Hello Kitty: Here We Go!, a collection of comic stories about Hello Kitty’s travels, will feature art by Chabot, Jorge Monlongo and Susie Ghahremani. Both offerings will be rated ‘A’ for All Ages.

Viz Media this Free Comic Book Day

Free Comic Book Day is this Saturday and Viz Media has two releases for comic fans everywhere. The Viz Kids comic sampler and Viz Media manga sampler give a little something for everyone including an excerpt from Goin’ Places!, Uglydolls, Hell Kitty, Mameshiba, Pokémon, Rurouni Kenshin: Restoration and Dragon Ball.

Creators will also be in Georgia, North Carolina and California to celebrate!

NYCC 2012 – Voltron Panel

Voltron heads to New York Comic Con as the Defenders of the Universe return for a panel hosted by Jeremy Corray that celebrates Voltron memories and includes some brand-new announcements!

Writer Brian “Smitty” Smith joins Artist Jacob Chabot on stage to talk about the creation of their Voltron Force comics from VIZ Media that are based on the hit Nicktoons animated TV show. The panel also features a preview of new issues of the Voltron comic lines, based on the classic series from Writer Brandon Thomas, artist N. Steven Harris and Russ Manning Award-nominated Artist Craig Cermak!

Updates on the live action movie produced by Atlas Entertainment, Relativity and Kickstart Productions will be announced, and Mattel’s Scott Neitlichwill raffle off a giant Voltron Classics Black Lion that YOU could win!

SDCC 2012 – VIZ Media Invites Young Fans to Kids Day at San Diego Comic-Con

VIZ Media welcomes younger fans and the young-at–heart on Sunday, July 15th for Kids Day at the company’s expansive booth 2813 at the San Diego Comic-Con. The day will celebrate the company’s VIZ Kids imprint with a free graphic novel sampler, Voltron Force and Winx Club lanyards, and special guest appearances to delight visitors of all ages.

Fans are invited to meet artist Ray-Anthony Height, from VIZ Media’s new original graphic novel series, Redakai, who will make an in-booth personal appearance at 12:30pm. This will be immediately followed with an appearance by fellow Redakai artist Dan Ciurczak at 1:30pm.

Visitors are also invited to meet Voltron Force Vol. 1 graphic novel artist Jacob Chabot, who will be on-hand to meet fans of the series at 2:30pm.

Voltron Force fans are encouraged to come learn the fun new Voltron Dance at 11am and 3:30pm. The first 30 fans who attend each session receive a free copy of the Voltron Force Vol. 1 graphic novel.

Winx Club fans will also want to catch a special appearance by the Winx fairies. Come and meet Bloom, Aisha and Stella at 11:30am and 4pm.
