Microsoft Reveals Some Details of their Next Xbox, Project Scarlett

E3 has kicked off and publishers and platforms are rolling out lots of news about what we can expect for video games over the next few years.

Microsoft has revealed their next Xbox console, dubbed Project Scarlett, will be launching during the holiday season in 2020.

Phil Spencer, executive vice president of gaming at the company, announced what hardware we can expect and a system “designed and optimized” for gaming.

The system will have:

  • Native 4K at 60 FPS, up to 120 FPS
  • Next gen SSD = 40x faster than current consoles
  • Hardware accelerated ray tracing
  • Games, accessories and career all come with you
  • 8K capable
  • Custom-designed AMD processor
  • “Four generations of content”

Halo Infinite will launch alongside the new console.

Marvel’s Avengers Coming to PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia

E3 is right around the corner and one of the most anticipated games is Marvel’s Avengers by Square Enix. Its been revealed that not only is the game coming to the PS4, Xbox One, and PC, but also to Google Stadia.

The revelation came fromt he game’s Twitter account where an image of the poster on the side of a building shows the four platforms.

We can also assume it won’t by coming to the Nintendo Switch based on this.

The game is the first of a multi-game partnership between Marvel and Square Enix. We’ll learn more about it very soon.

OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead Gets a Gameplay Trailer for E3 and Launches November 6

Starbreeze, Skybound Entertainment, and 505 Games have released the first official gameplay trailer for OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead, the upcoming cooperative multiplayer FPS from developer OVERKILL – A Starbreeze Studio. The video also reveals the game is expected to launch on the PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system, Xbox One and Windows PC on Nov. 6 in North and South America and Nov. 8 for the rest of the world, including Europe.

OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead is available to pre-order now as a digital title on all platforms and as a physical boxed product for consoles only at most major retailers for $59.99. A steel book deluxe edition of OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead, featuring the base game, the “Night Raid Character Pack” DLC, a variety of cosmetic skins, a digital art book and more, is also available to pre-order for $79.99. Players who pre-order either version will receive an assortment of in-game cosmetic skins as a bonus. As an homage to its comic book heritage, the physical steel book deluxe edition will also feature four collector cards illustrated by comic book artist Dan Panosian.

OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead’s PC-exclusive closed beta will begin later this year. Closed beta access will be available for PC pre-orders only. Players who pre-order the standard edition of OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead will receive a single invitation to the closed beta, while those who pre-order the game’s deluxe edition will receive four closed beta invites to share with friends.

Inspired by Robert Kirkman’s original graphic novels, OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead is a four-player co-op multiplayer shooter in which players must band together on a variety of missions and raids to find survivors, secure supplies and stay alive. Use stealth to evade enemies tactically, or dismember walkers limb from limb with brute force and firepower. Each of the game’s four playable characters has their own special abilities, skill trees, squad roles, play styles and background stories.

Marvel’s Spider-Man Gets a Gamplay Trailer at E3

Marvel’s Spider-Man got a new gamplay trailer for E3 and not only do we get to see the video game in action but also the villains Spider-Man will be facing… the Sinister Six! Some new designs of classic characters are shown off and hopefully get you excited for the game being released later this year.

Marvel’s Spider-Man features your favorite web-slinger in a story unlike any before it. Now a seasoned Super Hero, Peter Parker has been busy keeping crime off the streets as Spider-Man. Just as he’s ready to focus on life as Peter, a new villain threatens New York City. Faced with overwhelming odds and higher stakes, Spider-Man must rise up and be greater. Sony Interactive Entertainment, Marvel, and Insomniac Games present Marvel’s Spider-Man exclusively for PlayStation 4.

Marvel’s Spider-Man is out September 7, 2018.

The Walking Dead Bites into Virtual Reality with Multiple VR Games

Skybound Entertainment, the creator-focused multiplatform entertainment company founded by The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman and David Alpert, has partnered with Skydance Interactive, a division of Skydance Media, to develop a number of original virtual reality video games based on the expansive world of The Walking Dead universe. The Walking Dead VR game will be the inaugural co-developed title from both companies.

In a multi-year strategy, the two companies are collaborating to produce an unparalleled gaming experience that will offer millions of fans and gamers the opportunity to engage, interact, and immerse into the post-apocalyptic world of The Walking Dead and its characters in virtual reality. The first game will feature an entirely new setting and cast of characters, which players will experience through an innovative contextual interaction system – a first-of-its-kind for The Walking Dead in VR.
