The Green Hornet ’66 Meets The Spirit from Fred Van Lente and Bob Q

Dynamite Entertainment has announced that classic television’s incarnation of The Green Hornet is set to make his return with an unexpected new partner in the pulp character’s latest cross-over miniseries, The Green Hornet ’66 Meets The Spirit, featuring revered comic writer/artist Will Eisner’s famous two-fisted crimefighter. Written by Fred Van Lente, with art by Bob Q, The Green Hornet ’66 Meets The Spirit #1 arrives in stores this July!

The Green Hornet is back and on the case! With his aide Kato and their rolling arsenal, The Black Beauty, by his side, The Green Hornet is ready to face the toughest of challenges! On police records a wanted criminal, The Green Hornet is secretly Britt Reid, owner/publisher of The Daily Sentinel. Reid and Kato have traveled to Central City to participate in the futuristic World’s Fair, and to get the skinny on the new and potentially dangerous “Newspaper of Tomorrow”, a device capable of predicting headlines before events happen.

The debut issue of The Green Hornet ’66 Meets the Spirit features a wide selection of cover variants, providing fans and retailers with the freedom of choice! The cover artwork features the talents of the award-winning team, Mike and Laura Allred, Ty Templeton, and Javier Pulido, respectively. Limited variant editions in “Black & White” and “Virgin Art” formats are also available as retailer incentives for comic shops that support the launch issue by achieving stocking thresholds.

Cullen Bunn and Alex Sanchez Launch a New Battlestar Galactica

Atari and Dynamite Ink Publishing Deal

Dynamite has announced a collaborative publishing agreement with Atari, one of the world’s most recognized publishers and producers of interactive entertainment. The deal includes rights for a comprehensive retrospective hardcover book, collecting game production and concept artwork, photos, behind-the-scenes info, marketing art, other details on the company and its games, and interviews with key people involved in Atari’s rich history. The deal also includes the right to create original comics and graphic novels in all sizes, as well as reprint existing comic material.

Atari was originally founded in 1972 and was a pioneer in arcade games and home video game consoles. The company’s products, such as Pong and the Atari 2600 helped define the electronic entertainment industry from the 1970s to the mid-1980s, and beyond.

In addition to the hardcover retrospective art book, Dynamite has plans to create new comics based on a select list of Atari properties that help reimagine games with new story and art from some of today’s best creators. The list includes Asteroids, Centipede, Crystal Castles, Missile Command, Tempest, Yar’s Revenge, and more. Dynamite also plans to reprint existing comics material, such as the Atari Force comics that were originally published from 1982-1986 and featured well known and impressive talent such as Gerry Conway, Roy Thomas, Ross Andru, Gil Kane, Dick Giordano, Mike DeCarlo, Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez, Eduardo Barreto, and Mike Baron.
