Cryptozoic Entertainment Sons of Anarchy Trading Cards Seasons 6 & 7 Out Now

Cryptozoic Entertainment has released the Sons of Anarchy Trading Cards Season 6 and 7 which covers the final two seasons of the television show. There are 5 cards per pack with 24 packs per box. The bast set consists of 63 cards covering the two seasons. The cards also features 3 chase sets, 9 inserts, and autographed cards.

The club is equally determined to protect their ruthless and illegally thriving arms business. Charlie Hunnam stars as Jackson ‘Jax’ Teller, a man whose love for the brotherhood is tested by his growing apprehension for its lawlessness. In the final trading cards set, fans will find episodic images from the final two seasons as well as replica patches and tattoos, cast autographs, and authentic wardrobe swatches.

The Legion of Super-Heroes is out now for the DC Comics Deck-Building Game

DC Comics Deck-building Game Crossover Pack 3 Legion of Super-HeroesA legion of young guns from the DC Universe are ready for their time in the spotlight! Play as a founding member of the Legion of Super-Heroes: Lightining Lad, Saturn Girl, Cosmic Boy, and more in the DC Comics Deck-Building Game! Take on Super-Villains like Time Trapper, Emerald Empress, Persuader, and many others. Find interesting new Heroes, Villains, Equipment, Super Powers, and Locations in this set as well.

For those who have never played the DC Comics Deck-Building Game, you use a starting hand of cards to buy new cards… building your deck. You’re goal? Beating a group of DC super villains and in the end gaining more points than your opponent. The DC Comics Deck-Building Game Crossover Pack 3: Legion of Super-Heroes adds new mechanics to the game, and the crossover packs aren’t a game unto themselves. You’ll need the main DC Comics Deck-Building Game, Heroes Unite, Forever Evil, or Teen Titans to play. Each game comes with their own unique spin.

This set features an exciting new keyword sure to throw DC Deck-building Game players for a loop. A time loop, that is! The keyword is Time Travel, and almost every card in this set has it. A Time Travel card can be played while in the Line-Up or on the Super-Villain stack at the cost of discarding a card from hand. It will give you a bonus for the turn, but then you can’t buy or gain that card. Players will have interesting decisions to make each turn. If you use a Time Travel ability, it limits your purchase options, and it also means the next player will be able to use that Time Travel card as well. Now you need brains, skill, and timing to beat your foes!

You can get the expansion now.

Cryptozoic Entertainment Expands Product Sales into GameStop

CryptozoicCryptozoic Entertainment, premier developer and game publisher, announced today it has partnered with GameStop to expand its sales of games and trading card sets. With more than 6,600 GameStop retail locations and online sales, this partnership delivers the opportunity for players to easily find their favorite games and trading cards.

Games now available include Spyfall, The Big Bang Theory: The Party Game, The Walking Dead: Don’t Look Back Dice Game, Adventure Time Card Wars releases, DC Comics Deck-Building Games and Bravest Warriors Dice Game. Along with games, GameStop also sells Cryptozoic trading card sets including Walking Dead Season 3, DC Comics Super Villains and Supernatural Seasons 1-3.

This is the latest in numerous moves by the company to expand its footprint and distribution network. In April the company modified their exclusive agreement with Alliance to allow for distribution elsewhere. In May the company announced it would cease selling trading cards direct to consumers, and then expanded their relationship with Publishing Services, Inc. In June they announced they were expanding their relationship with Diamond. This all kicked off in April when the company announced they hired a Vice President for Global Sales.

This is clearly a company looking to expand their footprint and sales and we wish them luck.

Fionna & Cake Return with Their A-Game in Adventure Time with Fionna & Cake: Card Wars

KaBOOM!, an imprint of BOOM! Studios, and Cartoon Network Enterprises have announced the return of Fionna & Cake to comics in the all-new limited series Adventure Time with Fionna & Cake: Card Wars. Writer Jen Wang and artist Britt Wilson come together for a new adventure as Fionna & Cake seek out a worthy opponent for Card Wars champ Cake. As a bonus, each first-printing copy of issue #1 will come with an exclusive Adventure Time: Card Wars card, playable in the Cryptozoic Entertainment card game that itself was created based on an Adventure Time episode of the same name.

Cake is a Card Wars champ who can’t be beat, and Fionna…is really tired of getting beaten! They set off in search of a challenger who can really test Cake’s mettle. When they stumble across some gamer slugs, they think they’ve hit the jackpot, but these guys have never heard of Cake and refuse to even play with her!

The highly anticipated first issue in a six-part limited series, Adventure Time with Fionna & Cake: Card Wars #1 arrives in comic shops on July 15th with a main cover by series writer Jen Wang for the price of $3.99 under Diamond order code MAY151096. Spyfall Probes and Bluffs Its Way Into Stores

SpyfallCryptozoic Entertainment has announced the release of the Spyfall deduction card game on June 10. Spyfall is an easy-to-learn card game of bluffing, probing questions, clever answers and suspicion. At the start of each round, players receive a secret card informing them of the group’s location – a casino, space station, pirate ship, circus, (30 unique locations), except one player receives the SPY card instead of the location. The Spy doesn’t know where they are, but wins the round if they can figure it out before blowing their cover.

Players ask each other questions during the intense 8-minute rounds. Non-Spy players ask questions and give answers to prove their location to the other players. If the questions and answers are too specific, the Spy can easily guess the location and win, so subtlety is key. If questions and answers are too generic, the player might be accused of being the Spy. The Spy will be asked questions and have to come up with questions of their own, without knowing anything about their location. By listening carefully to the other players, the Spy should be able to come up with a plausible question or answer.

Once per round, each player may accuse another player of being the Spy. If all players agree, the game ends and that player’s secret card is flipped up. If the Spy is captured, each of the non-Spy players win the round. If a non-Spy is revealed, the Spy wins. Finally, if the Spy figures out where they are, they can reveal their card and make a guess. If they’re right, they win the round. If not, the non-Spy players win. The game is played over a series of rounds and points are awarded each round. A complete game is typically five rounds and the cards are randomly dealt each round. A player could even be the Spy two rounds in a row. After the last round, the player with the most points is the winner.

Some bullet points of interest from the press announcement announcing the game’s release:

  • Number of Players: 3-8
  • For Ages: 15 and up
  • Easy to learn with quick game set up
  • Including 30 Locations for great replayability
  • Choose your own game length
  • Advanced game mode – location based
  • Great social party game

Cryptozoic Entertainment Expands their Partnership with Publishing Services, Inc.

CryptozoicCryptozoic Entertainment has announced they are expanding their partnership with Publisher Services, Inc. (PSI). This will allow for increased distribution of Cryptozoic’s game products. The sales plan with PSI opens up new channels for distribution, delivers enhanced supply-chain methods, brings new key accounts and provides an expert view of the retail landscape.

In April Cryptozoic announced that its relationship with Alliance Game Distributors for board games had been modified to “allow for additional distribution through a select number of other companies.” That was the first sign that the company was looking to expand their distribution elsewhere.

Earlier this month Cryptozoic also announced it would cease direct to consumer sales of trading cards and binders, allowing for more product to be available with stores.

All of these taken together show Cryptozoic is focused on strengthening their distribution channels and relationship with stores to enhance the sale of all of their products. Should be interesting to see how this might translate as things go on.
