Dark Horse and Wizards of the Coast present: Magic: The Gahtering – Mage of Zhalfir

Witness the history of Dominaria through the eyes of the once-and-future Planeswalker Teferi Akosa in Dark Horse Comics and Hasbro’s Wizards of the Coast division’s newest comic series, Magic: The Gathering: Mage of Zhalfir. The twelve-issue series will be written by award-winning writer Ray Fawkes and lettered by AndWorld Design with the first four issues illustrated by Rapha Lobosco and colored by Jão Canola. Issue #1 arrives in January 2027, and will feature cover art by Paris Alleyne and a variant cover by Mateus Manhanini.

Under the tutelage of the master Planeswalker, Urza, an ambitious young mage studies at the prestigious Tolarian Academy on Dominaria. Teferi Akosa knows he is destined for greatness, but manipulating time and space is delicate work, and tampering with reality always has its consequences . . .

Magic: The Gathering: Mage of Zhalfir #1 (of 12) releases in stores on January 20, 2027. It is now available to preorder from your local comic shop for $4.99.

Tyler Rake: An Extraction Story #5 wraps up the series with an ok finale

The Folk of Dooney Hollow #1 has the makings of an interesting horror series

Deep in the Ozark Mountains lies the village of Dooney Hollow, hidden away from modern society for over a century. Its existence is only spoken of around campfires, in hushed tones, by people who don’t necessarily believe. Those who stumble upon Dooney Hollow never return to prove that it’s real, because dark forces lurk in the woods just outside the town gate.

Kerri is a young graduate student who goes to the Ozarks to get a feel for the land and its people – and its local legends. Little does she know how close to these legends she will get, as a chance encounter in the forest leads her to ceremonial grounds and the terrifying monster that keeps the citizens of Dooney Hollow living in fear.
