Exclusive: Get a look at The DC Art of Bruno Redondo Dust Jacket

Clover Press has announced The DC Art of Bruno Redondo, the second volume in the The DC Art Of… books, the recent line of high-end boutique art books showcasing the very best artists to craft the DC multiverse. Three-time Eisner Award-winning artist Bruno Redondo has built a world-class career perfecting his art for DC’s comics in the 21st century, and now, The DC Art of Bruno Redondo collects his very best work from the first era of an already impressive career. With over 200 pages, the 9”x12” volume highlights Redondo’s defining runs on Injustice and Nightwing, as well special selections from Justice LeagueBatman: Black & WhiteHarley Quinn: Black, White & Red; and much more. Head to Kickstarter to sign up for the pre-launch page ahead of the campaign’s launch.

After making a name for himself on titles like Human Target (with Len Wein), Push, and Batman: Arkham Unhinged, Bruno Redondo joined his Star Wars: Darth Maul collaborator Tom Taylor (DCeasedAll-New Wolverine) to take the reins of Injustice: Gods Among Us, elevating a digital-first video game tie-in comic to a fan-favorite series with a fiercely devoted readership. The scope and tenure of the story also provided the perfect testing ground for Bruno to experiment with and hone his signature style of fluid, unencumbered pencil work combined with a precision sense of design. After Injustice’s conclusion, Bruno lent his name to other high-profile DC series, including Justice League (with Scott Snyder), Titans (with Dan Abnett), and Suicide Squad (again with Tom Taylor). Beginning with Nightwing #78, Bruno and Tom Taylor began what quickly became one of the seminal runs on comics’ first sidekick, Dick Grayson. Their take on the former Boy Wonder was refreshingly bright for a bat book, in both narrative tone and visual style, and put Dick in the comics spotlight for the first time in years. The unique kinetic language and attention to detail that Bruno brought to the character helped the series top itself month after month and, ultimately, earn Eisner Awards for Best Continuing Series and Best Single Issue. Bruno would also take home the Eisner for Best Cover Artist.

The DC Art of Bruno Redondo will feature a collection of Bruno’s extensive work with DC, as well as an introduction by Bruno’s frequent creative partner, #1 New York Times-bestselling writer Tom Taylor. The campaign will also feature extras, including rarely-seen sketches and commissions, Redondo’s Nightwing covers, a fold-out edition of the iconic Nightwing #87, a sticker pack, a poster pack, and more, available in Clover Press’ traditional options of hardcover, dust jacket, slipcase, and signed slipcase editions.

We have the exclusive reveal of the dust jacket which features some of Redondo’s amazing art. You can sign up now so you don’t miss out when it launches.

The ThunderCats Roleplaying Game Book is Live on Kickstarter – With Ultra-Limited Editions!

ThunderCats The Roleplaying Game

Dynamite Entertainment and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products have launched a roleplaying tabletop game book based on the world of the ThunderCatsIt’s available to preorder now on Kickstarter!

Tabletop game studio Lynnvander Studios has designed and written this campaign and setting book compatible with 5e. Lynnvander luminaries including Tommy Gofton, Devin Wilson, Bryan CP Steele, Josh Derksen, and Adam Petkovic have all contributed to this project. This follows their previous collaborations with Dynamite such as the Reanimator game, and countless other licensed adventures and original creations that have established their glowing reputation with gamers.

Across nearly 250 pages of mechanics and lore, featuring official artwork and masterful design, gamers can live their own adventures ripped from their Saturday morning memories or the latest blockbuster official comic books from Dynamite. Harnessing the power of Thundrillium, players will sustain their technology, pilot starships through cosmic storms, wield enchanted armaments and ancient spells. On the plains of Third Earth, laser rifles and mystic blades alike clash, wizards and robots duel, and vital resources include both raw courage and energy cells. This indispensable tome brings the action, spectacle, and excitement of ThunderCats to the tabletop setting and game nights for many years to come.

For hardcore ‘Cats fans, it’s also stuffed full of rich reference material and visions of the franchise, enjoyable in many ways even just for a read! Within, readers will find information on the Code of Thundera, artifacts including the Book of Omens and Eye of Thundera, major history from the Great Migration, war with Plun-Darr, exodus to Third Earth, and the rise of Mumm-Ra.

Through the character creation process, players can pick from among newly created subclasses like the Mechanist, Path of Collision, College of Omens, Ancient Spirits of Evil and Good Domain, Circle of the Croft, Operator, Warrior of the Claw, Oath of Destiny, Evil-Chaser, Heckler, Metamorphosis Sorcery, Mongor Patron, and Magician. Then a wide variety of character backgrounds are presented, with the “open book” design also allowing creative players to craft their own. Thunderian builds can opt to be strong, fast, tough, clever, wise, or proud in establishing their appearance and abilities. Those looking for some extra fun or unique playstyle can play as Humans, Snarfs, Berbils, Snowfolk, Tuska, and even Mu’Tants (with multiple factions and forms available!). Countless further abilities, stats, and mechanics then follow ensuring each and every adventure offers a unique experience.

Character bios and full skills and stats are also available for nearly every established character from the existing ThunderCats mythos, either to encounter and ally with during players’ journeys or to adapt their build and embody their favorites. This includes the likes of Lion-O, Cheetara, Bengali, Tygra, Jaga, Lynx-O, Panthro, Pumyra, WilyKat, WilyKit, Snarf, and even plenty of villainous icons.

The book also details settings from Third Earth, New Thundera, and across the cosmos. Even other dimensions are broken down and able to be explored through gameplay. A vast range of equipment and vehicles are also explored in the book, with them all accessible on adventures. The book comes complete with visuals and a comprehensive index.

Available now on Kickstarter, the book is available in three unique editions. The base hardcover version features David Nakayama‘s gorgeous and instantly-iconic cover for ThunderCats #1 which kicked off the Dynamite era of new stories in comic books. A further limited edition printing takes Nakayama’s masterful illustration, focuses on Lion-O, puts him in front of a bursting franchise logo, and shines with red accents. This makes it not only an awesome tome for all things ThunderCats gaming, but also a rare and hard to find collectible. Last but certainly not least, fans can opt for a top-of-the-line leatherbound presentation. Featuring the ThunderCats logo emblazoned upon the cover. Only 1,985 copies are being produced of this most ultimate version, in tribute to the debut year of the franchise.

The Kickstarter is live for a limited time, so fans are encouraged to pledge now and lock their copy in before the year closes, especially if they want one of the limited edition editions!
