Dungeons & Dragons: Saturday Morning Adventures gets a Deluxe Hardcover Library Edition

Dark Horse Books and Wizards of the Coast present the Dungeons & Dragons: Animated Adventures Library Edition, a new deluxe hardcover book collecting all three of IDW’s Dungeons & Dragons: Saturday Morning Adventures series. The Saturday Morning Adventures series is written by David M. Booher and Sam Maggs, illustrated by George Kambadais and Jack Lawrence, colored by Kambadais, Josh Burcham, John-Paul Bove, Kendall Goode, Ed Pirrie, and Ben Pirrie, and lettered by Ed Dukeshire and Rus Wooton. This edition will also feature brand-new cover art by Rex Xie and a variant cover art gallery.

Once upon a time, a group of six friends hopped aboard a Dungeons & Dragons–themed rollercoaster, and it magically transported them to the Forgotten Realms!

When the kids arrived, they met Dungeon Master, who gifted them with enchanted items that gave them powers. Noble ranger Hank, charismatic cavalier Eric, dexterous acrobat Diana, wise magician Presto, clever thief Sheila, and brash barbarian Bobby just wanted to find a way back home—but instead, they end up fighting off forces of evil or helping those in need.

Tag along with the team as they leap through a mysterious portal and find themselves at a spooky monastery in Waterdeep! Get out the sunscreen and hit the beach with the kids as they plan on having summer vacation, only to end up tangling with dragons! And finally, set sail for the swashbuckling Sword Coast where the friends find themselves clashing with pirates!

Get ready for some fun adventures this summer with the Dungeons & Dragons: Animated Adventures Library Edition! This edition will be available August 4, 2026 in bookstores and comic shops and is now available for preorder at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and your local comic shop or bookstore for $49.99.

Free Comic Book Day returns May 2, 2026 and expands to Friendly Local Game Stores!

Free Comic Book Day 2026

After lots of doubt about it’s future, Free Comic Book Day returns in 2026 on May 2 but gets juiced with even more!

The best day of comics so far features releases from Archie Comics, DC Comics, Dynamite Entertainment, Image Comics, Mad Cave Studios, Oni Press, Titan Comics, Udon Entertainment, and Vault Comics!

Those publishers are all handled by Universal Distribution and Lunar. What’s missing is Penguin Random House’s exclusive publishers like Marvel, BOOM! Studios, IDW Publishing, Ignition Press, DSTLRY and more. There’s rumblings of their own event also on May 2.

But, it’s expanding to friendly local game stores!

So far, Upper Deck and Wizards of the Coast are supporting the event and the goal is to appeal to fans of tabletop board games, RPGs, and trading cards, on top of comic book fans! Traditionally, game stores have had their own days like Free RPG Day and International Tabletop Day.

Universal Distribution, which purchased some of Diamond’s assets, will be handling the event. Universal, while mainly has been focused on distribution in Canada for comics and games, has been teasing an expansion into the United States and more of a marriage between comics and games for distribution.

Wizards of the Coast hits the brakes on its Secret Lair x Monster Hunter release

Secret Lair x Monster Hunter

Wizards of the Coast has been releasing regular limited collaborations between Magic: The Gathering and other properties. Dubbed “Secret Lair,” these drops tend to sell quickly and become collector items commanding some impressive prices after. One recent one fell short of expectations. The Secret Lair x Monster Hunter was revealed and quickly saw criticism from fans for the cards chosen for the set and lack of tying really into the Monster Hunter video game, and Wizards of the Coast to their credit have listened.

Posted on their site:

Let’s cut to the chase: the Secret Lair x Monster Hunter™ Superdrop we revealed last week fell short of expectations. We heard loud and clear that you were disappointed, and we believe we can do better. So, we’re going to postpone this release and rework this Superdrop entirely.

Like many of you, we’re big fans of Monster Hunter. It’s why we put this Superdrop together. But in our excitement, we missed the mark on elements like card selection and faithfully integrating the world and mechanics of Monster Hunter. As a result, the overall construction of this Superdrop is not up to the standard you have come to expect.

Pulling Superdrops back isn’t something we’re going to do very often, but we’re committed to doing better. Capcom is on board for us to take another swing at this Superdrop as well.

So, we’re going to pull this one back and will share new details and an updated release date in a few months. Keep an eye out for more information in 2026.

So what do you all think of the response? Good? Bad? Has a can of worms been opened?
