The Croods: A New Age repeated in first place this past weekend earning $4.4 million at the domestic box office. That’s a drop of 54.8% from the previous weekend. Domestically, the film earned $20.3 million putting it already in the top 20 films of the year. It’s the only film to earn over four figures ber screen average. Internationally, the film added about $19.4 million to bring its total there to $40.2 million. Worldwide, the film has earned $60.6 million making it one of the more successful films of the years after two weeks.

Half Brothers debuted in second place with $720,000. No international numbers have been released in its first week.

Freaky dropped from second place to third with a dip of 42.5%. The film earned an estimated $460,000 domestically. The film has earned $7.7 million after four weeks. The film added about $1.1 million over the week internationally to bring that number to $5.6 million Worldwide, the film has earned $13.3 million.

All My Life opened up in fourth place with an estimated $350,000. Internationally, the film also earned $730,000 to bring its worldwide total to a little under $1.1 million.

Rounding out the top five was The War with Grandpa which was in third last week. The film dropped 44.4% from the previous week to earn an estimated $329,359. Its domestic total is now $17.6 million. Over the week, the film grossed about $200,000 internationally as well to bring that total to $8.5 million. Worldwide, the film has earned $26.1 million.

The New Mutants came in at #20 from the previous week’s #24. The film earned an estimated $3,500 domestically to bring that total to $23.8 million. The film gained a little internationally to bring that to $22.4 million. Worldwide, the film has earned $46.2 million.

The Empty Man came in at #21, improved from the previous week’s #20. The movie earned $1,500 domestically to bring its total to just under $3 million. internationally, the film earned about $50,000 over the week to raise that to $711,043. Worldwide, the film has earned $3.7 million.

We’ll update this analysis when the final numbers are in but over the weekend, the domestic box office grossed $8,471,375 from 39 films. That’s down by about $7.5 million from the previous week. There were 16,864 theaters,which is up from last week’s 15,714. The average per-theater earned was $502.33, down from the previous week’s $902.24.

It’s a new film at the top of the box office and with a semi-decent opening too. The Croods: A New Age opened with $9.7 million for the weekend. The film opened on Wednesday before the Thanksgiving holiday and has earned $17 million over its five days. It also earned $20.8 million at the international box office for a worldwide total of $37.8 million. In a rough situation right now, that’s a solid opening weekend for a film and one of the better of the year.

In second place was last weekend’s champ, Freaky. The film dropped 39.9% to earn $770,000 over the weekend. The film has made a little over $7 million over its three weeks at the domestic box office. At the international box office, the film added about $1.1 million to its total. Worldwide, the film has earned $11.9 million.

The War with Grandpa also slipped one spot to come in third. The film added $643,937 to its total over the weekend a dip of 13.8% from the previous weekend. Domestically, the film has earned $17.3 million after 8 weeks. It earned about $200,000 at the international box office for a worldwide total of $25.6 million so far.

In fourth place was Let Him Go which dropped 37.4% and earned $453,000. The film has earned $8.7 million after four weeks. It earned about $1,500 at the international box office to bring that number to $73,250. Worldwide, the film has earned $8.8 million.

The New Mutants came in at #18 earning an estimated $7,000 a drop of 83.2%. That brings the domestic total to $23.8 million. The film earned about $100,000 over the week internationally to bring that total to $22.3 million. Worldwide, the film has earned $46.1 million.

That’s a vast improvement from the previous weekend’s $6.4 million. The average per-theater gross was $902.24, again an improvement from the previous weekend’s $385.81. That’s a drop of 66.1% from the previous weekend. It’s still more than enough to hold on to first place by almost double the second place. The film has earned $5.6 million domestically so far and $3.7 million at the international box office. Worldwide, the film has earned $9.2 million.

In second place was The War With Grandpa which improved from last week’s #3. The film earned an estimated $733,067 a drop of 44.5% from the previous week. In seven weeks the film has earned $16.2 million. It has also earned $8.1 million at the foreign box office for a worldwide total of $24.3 million worldwide.

Let Him Go dropped from second place last weekend to this week’s third. It earned an estimated $710,000 a drop of 59.3%. The film has earned $7.9 million domestically after three weeks. At the foreign box office, the film has earned $71,852 for a worldwide total of a little over $8 million.

In fourth place was Come Play which earned $550,000, down 48.8% from the previous week. The film has earned $8 million after four weeks domestically. Internationally, the film has earned $1.9 million for a worldwide gross of just under $10 million.

Rounding out the top five was a re-release of The Santa Clause which earned $461,000.

The New Mutants slipped one spot over the weekend to #17. It earned an estimated $41,000, a drop of 50.7%. Its grossed $23.8 million after 13 weeks domestically. It earned about $200,000 over the week internationally to bring that total to $22.1 million. Worldwide, the film has grossed $45.9 million.

The Empty Man slipped to spots to come in at #19. The film earned an estimated $31,000, a drop of 61.6%. After five weeks the film has earned just under $3 million domestically. Internationally, the film earned about $90,000 to bring that total to $557,533. Worldwide, the film has earned $3.5 million.

Initial numbers has the weekend box office at 42 films, $6,412,895 grossed, from 16,622 theaters. That’s a massive drop of the previous weekend’s 41 films and their $11.3 million from 19,067 theaters. This past weekend had a per-average earning of $385.81 compatred to the previous weekend’s $584.30. We’ll update those numbers as the final weekend box amounts are reported.

In third place was The War with Grandpa which held the same spot in the previous week. The film earned an estimated $1.3 million to bring its domestic total to $15.2 million after six weeks. Internationally, the film has earned $7.7 million for a worldwide total just shy of $23 million.

In fourth place was Come Play down from the #2 spot last weekend. The film earned $1.1 million to bring its domestic total to $7.3 million after three weeks. Internationally, the film has earned just under $2 million to bring its worldwide total to $9.3 million.

Rounding out the top five was Honest Thief. The film was in fourth place the previous weekend. It earned $800,000 bringing its domestic total to $12.4 million after six weeks. Internationally, the film has earned just shy of $11 million to bring its worldwide total to $23.3 million.

The Empty Man dropped to #16 from last weekend’s #7. The film earned an estimated $81,000 to bring its domestic total to $2.9 million. Internationally, the film added about $150,000 to its total during the week to bring that to $468,120. Worldwide, the film has grossed $3.4 million after 3 weeks.

The New Mutants was just behind that film coming in at #17 down from last weekend’s #10. The film added an estimated $80,000 to its domestic total to bring that to $23.7 million after 12 weeks. Internationally, the film added about $150,000 over the week to that total. There it has grossed $21.9 million to bring its worldwide total to $45.6 million.

As of this reporting, 41 films earned $11.3 million from 19,067 theaters. That’s an improvement over the previous weekend’s $11.1 million from 17,160 theaters though that’s $594.30 per-theater down from the previous weekend’s $644.77 per-theater average. Come Play dropped from first to second adding $1.8 million to its total and bringing that to $5.7 million.

The War with Grandpa held steady in third place. The film earned an estimated $1.5 million, up 19% from the previous weekend. The film has now earned $13.4 million domestically. Internationally, the film has earned a little under $7 million for a worldwide total of $20.4 million after 30 days.

In fourth place was Honest Thief which was a drop from the last weekend’s second place finish. The film added $1.1 million to bring its domestic total to $11.2 million. Internationally, the film has earned $9.8 million for a worldwide total just shy of $21 million after 30 days.

Tenet rounded out the top five earning $905,000 domestically that’s an improvement on last week’s fourth place and $885,000. It now stands at $55.1 million. Internationally, the film added $2.3 million over the week to bring that total to $295.6 million at the foreign box office. Worldwide, the film has earned $350.7 million after 66 days.

The film earned an estimated $127,720 to bring its domestic total to $23.6 million. It looks like the film is again earning money at the international box office. Over the week that increased by about $435,000 to bring that total to $21.7 million. Worldwide, the film has earned $45.2 million after 72 days.

Over the weekend, 39 films earned a total of $11.1 million from 17,160 theaters. That’s an improvement from the previous weekend’s 46 films, $9.7 million, and 18,952 theaters. Each theater earned about $644.77 on average over this past weekend compared to the previous weekend’s $511.35.

The War with Grandpa dropped to third from last weekend’s second place. The film earned $1.1 million to bring its domestic total to $11.3 million after four weeks. The film has also earned $5.6 million from international theaters to bring its worldwide total to $16.9 million.

Tenet came in fourth place holding that spot with an estimated $885,000. That brings its domestic total to $53.8 million. At the international box office, the film has earned $293.3 million an increase of $4.3 million over the week. That brings its worldwide total to $347.1 million.

In its second weekend, The Empty Man dropped to #5 from last week’s #3. The film earned an estimated $561,000, a drop of 57.2%. That brings the film’s total domestic gross to $2.3 million. Internationally, the film has earned $119,265. That brings the film’s worldwide total to $2.4 million.

Alita: Battle Angel also received a re-release coming in at #11 and earning $128,000 from 1,060 theaters. That has brought the domestic earning of the film to $85.8 million.

21 films totaled $8,976,533 over the weekend, an increase of 3 films and a drop of about $1.1 million. That’s from 16,590 theaters, a decrease of about 2,000 theaters from the previous weekend. That’s an average of $541 per theater, a dip of a litte over $4 from the previous week’s $545.42.

Worldwide, the film has earned $10.8 million after three weeks.

The War with Grandpa came in second place again with an estimated $1.9 million domestically to bring that total to $9.7 million after three weeks. The film added about $600,000 at the international box office to bring that total to $4.1 million. Worldwide, it’s earned $13.8 million.

In third place was Tenet which earned an estimated $1.3 million domestically to bring the film’s total to $52.5 million. Internationally, the film earned about $6.7 million over the week to bring that total to $289 million. Worldwide, the film has earned $341.5 million after seven weeks.

Based on the comic series from BOOM! Studios, The Empty Man opened in fourth place with an estimated $1.3 million. The film was originally to be released on August 7, 2020, and then delayed to December 4. It was then moved up to this date, more suited due to Halloween and the film’s horror plot. No international numbers have been posted.

The Empty Man may have a rough rime receiving a “D+” CinemaScore. The film currently has a 44% on RottenTomatoes, though the official score is still being tallied.

53% of the audience was male and 53% of the audience was over the age of 25. This, along with the reviews, is another sign the film may have issues as horror films are often driven by women.

With virtually no marketing, it kind of feels like the film was dumped in theaters by Disney who didn’t know what to do with the 20th Century Fox holdover.

The Hocus Pocus re-release was in third place earning a little under $1.2 million, a drop of 39.7% from the previous week. The film has earned a little under $3.1 million so far from its re-release.

The New Mutants dropped 34.3% from the previous week and brought in $685,000. The film has earned $22 million domestically after 7 weeks. Internationally, the film has held steady at $21 million signaling its run might be over. Worldwide the film has earned just shy of $43 million.
