Bryce Hunter is a devoutly religious man whose faith is shattered when he catches his wife being…Intimate with an Elder from his church. This harrowing event sends Bryce spiraling into the hands of a demonic entity named Uvydus, Instead of rejecting possession, Bryce ACCEPTS Uvydus. Bryce wants to learn to be “bad” and Uvydus wants to be “less than completely evil.” But before Bryce can use this new partnership to finally live a little, the world’s greatest Exorcist sees Bryce as his greatest challenge. But that’s not even the worst of it as a murderous group of demons breaks free from Hell and threatens to re-shape earth into a kingdom over which they rule!

DSTLRY has announced that The Missionary by Ryan Stegman and Jason Howard has completely sold out at the distribution level. Following unprecedented demand for the horror-action blockbuster, this sell out cements ​The Missionary’s ​blockbuster debut.

In response to the overwhelming sellout, DSTLRY has raided their vault of their convention stock to make more polybagged first printings of The Missionary #1 Red Label​ Edition available to comic shops. The polybagged Red Label edition, featuring NSFW content and added ultraviolence, is currently available to order through your local comic shops. This newly available first print stock of The Missionary #1 Red Label ​Edition was originally reserved for DSTLRY’s convention appearances, but this stock allows more first prints to be available to fans, offering another opportunity to own a piece of this iconic series while supplies last.

Set against a backdrop of hellish action and supernatural horror, The Missionary tells the story of Bryce Hunter, a man shattered by betrayal and consents to possession by the demon Uvydus. Ryan Stegman and Jason Howard’s The Missionary Invites More Sinister Chaos with The DSTLRY Red Label PolyBagged Edition

DSTLRY has revealed the polybagged DSTLRY Red Label edition of The Missionary #1, an expanded version of the previously announced heretical horror comic from the creative duo of writer Ryan Stegman and artist Jason Howard. The Missionary #1 will hit shelves on September 25, 2024 in both standard editions (Covers A-G) with Cover H being the DSTLRY Red Label edition, featuring a new colorway of Jason Howard’s A cover colored by Tamra Bonvillain. 

The polybagged DSTLRY Red Label edition elevates The Missionary #1 to new depraved heights, containing NSFW content and added ultraviolence. Notably, this edition includes more depravity and gore, ending on a shocking double-page spread that expands on the regular edition’s last single splash page, revealing the “off camera” carnage previously left to the imagination.

Also revealed today, The Missionary #1 adds a hilariously iconic, fourth-wall-breaking Skottie Young wrap-around cover (Cover F) and a Sketch Cover (Cover G). Covers A-G, including the Skottie Young, and the Sketch Cover are open order and priced at $8.99, while the open order polybagged The Missionary #1 DSTLRY Red Label edition Cover H has a suggested retail price of $9.99.

The Missionary follows Bryce Hunter, a devoutly religious man whose world shatters when he discovers his wife in a scandalous affair with an Elder from his church. This revelation leads Bryce into the grasp of a demonic entity named Uvydus. Rather than rejecting the possession, Bryce embraces it, eager to learn the ways of “bad,” while Uvydus seeks to temper its evil nature. Together, the pair must navigate a world threatened by demons escaping Hell, poised to reshape Earth into their new kingdom.

Bryce Hunter is a devoutly religious man whose faith is shattered when he catches his wife being…intimate with an Elder from his church. This harrowing event sends  Bryce spiraling into the hands of a demonic entity named Uvydus.

Instead of rejecting possession, Bryce accepts Uvydus. Bryce wants to learn to be “bad” and Uvydus wants to be “less than completely evil.” But before Bryce can use this new partnership to live a little, the world’s greatest Exorcist sees Bryce as his greatest challenge. But that’s not even the worst of it as a murderous group of demons breaks free from Hell and threatens to re-shape earth into a kingdom over which they rule!

The combination of Bryce and Uvydus allows the pair to manifest demonic powers to fight both the EVIL and GOOD forces that want them destroyed. The fate of eternity hangs in the balance as Bryce and Uvydus must fight to not just survive, but reconcile their opposite natures and become The Missionary.
