Dr. Brain Launches on Tapas

Dr. Brain

Tapas and Kakao Entertainment have announced the hit Korean webcomic, Dr. Brain, will be available in English for the first time on Tapas. The science fiction thriller, written and drawn by Hongjacga, was recently adapted for television by director Jee-woon Kim and is now streaming globally on Apple TV+. The webcomic launch on Tapas will mark the first time the content is available in English. Dr. Brain will launch with three episodes and update on Thursdays.

Dr. Brain centers around a genius neuroscientist, Sewon, who connects to the brains of the recently deceased and discovers clues to murder cases. The webcomic is an electrifying depiction of Sewon’s struggle as he tracks down the suspects.

Produced by Kakao Webtoon Studio and originally released in Korea in 2016, Dr. Brain boasts more than 20 million accumulated views across Korean platforms Kakao Webtoon and Kakao Page. Now, fans watching the Apple Original series, which stars by Lee Sun-kyun, can dig even deeper into the Dr. Brain world with the webcomic on Tapas.

Enter the House of Slay from Einhorn’s Epic Productions, Jeremy Holt, Soo Lee, Kimi Lee, and Kevin Wada

Injustice, greed, and prejudice are running rampant, the vulnerable are in danger, and we need help from someone with the power to make an impact; a hero, or even better, a whole team of heroes. This is the foundation of the entire superhero genre, so it’s great to see a new take that goes all the way back to those roots in social justice. And that’s what you’re about to read in House of Slay, the brand new superhero comic from Einhorn’s Epic Productions (EEP), now available to read on Tapas!

The origins of House of Slay date back to the tumultuous events of last year, with the ongoing struggle for racial justice gaining momentum and anti-Asian hate crimes on the rise. Fashion designers Prabal Gurung and Phillip Lim,Laura Kim of Oscar De La Renta, and their friends Tina Leung and Ezra J William had banded together for support and solidarity as members of the AAPI community in fashion, making their voices heard on social media and at Black Lives Matter demonstrations. But with AAPI voices so often sidelined in the Eurocentric fashion world, they wanted a stronger, more visible presence.

Turned into superheroes by the EEP creative team of writer Jeremy Holt, cover artist Kevin Wada, artist Soo Lee, colorist Kimi Lee, letterer AndWorld Design, and editor Alex Lu, House of Slay follows these real life friends on a fantastic adventure as they use their newfound abilities to face off against a villain powered by the hatred of everyday people. It’s a story told with real heart, steeped in comics history with an “othered” group of people protecting the innocent and trying to make the world a better place. And of course, our heroes are dressed to slay!

Yen Press Announces a Print Release of The Beginning After the End

King Grey has unrivaled strength, wealth, and prestige in a world governed by martial ability. However, solitude lingers closely behind those with great power. Beneath the glamorous exterior of a powerful king lurks the shell of man devoid of purpose and will.

Reincarnated into a new world filled with magic and monsters, the king has a second chance to relive his life. Correcting the mistakes of his past will not be his only challenge, however. Underneath the peace and prosperity of the new world is an undercurrent threatening to destroy everything he has worked for, questioning his role and reason for being born again.

The launch date of the physical release of The Beginning After the End will be announced by Yen Press in the near future.
