MINISERIES PREMIERE For nearly a century, the Hundred has been the strong arm of the New York underworld. But now, as Covid-19 ravages the city in early 2020, a different kind of plague has arrived: a criminal mastermind mounting his takeover…unless Rain, daughter of the Hundred’s leader Josef, can unite the last elements of the fading crime gangs in one desperate attempt to fight back.
The city is in lockdown. The streets are empty. And the underworld is up for grabs! The razor-sharp, crime thriller Dark Honor is set in New York City at the dawn of the pandemic—where the COVID-19 virus isn’t the only unseen threat—and will launch in May from the Syzygy line at Image Comics.
Written by Ethan Sacks, K.S. Bruce, and Brian DeCubellis, this five-issue series marks Bruce and DeCubellis’ first foray into comics after a successful run in film—most notably their work on Trust, a top-10 Netflix hit in 20 countries, and Manhattan Night, starring two-time Academy Award winner Adrien Brody. The series is brought to life by the “Ocean’s Eleven of artists”, featuring interior art and covers from the powerhouse creators of Fico Ossio, David Messina, Gabriel Guzman, Jamal Igle; featuring colors by colorist Raciel Avila, and letterer JAME.
The Hundred have protected New York’s crime families for a century—now the city belongs to a new killer. Dark Honor brings a gritty, neo-noir twist to New York’s criminal underworld, where the real plague isn’t the virus but the power struggle left in its wake.

Novelists and writing duo Owen King and Jesse Kellerman team up with artist Marianna Ignazzi, colorist Fabiana Mascolo, and designer/letterer Ian Chagren for the upcoming five-issue comic book miniseries titled, Self Help. This new launch out of the Syzygy line at Image Comics will hit shelves on June 19.
Chagren will also be creating unique popular-crime-fiction-inspired logos and design pages for each issue. Issue #1’s design pays homage to legendary Hollywood noir poster artist, Saul Bass.
A California noir story with a wicked sense of humor, Self Help is a surreal and colorful world populated with two-faced talk-show hosts, cheerful Finnish mobsters, bloodthirsty white supremacists, snide English butlers, and panther-wielding Euro-trash assassins.
In Self Help, readers are introduced to down-on-his-luck rideshare driver Jerry Hauser, whose existence is a bleak one…especially because every fare he picks up tells him how much he looks like ultra-successful self-help guru Darren Hart. But in a twist of fate, Jerry is given the chance of a lifetime…which, if he’s not careful, may well end his lifetime. So begins this rollicking and gleefully lurid pulp crime story.
From there the story races ahead at an ever-increasing speed, and with an ever-increasing body count, as Jerry assumes his rival’s identity, fights to keep a lid on the murder, fends off the Euro-gangsters to whom Darren was heavily indebted, placates Darren’s calculating assistant Cassandra, and rebuilds his relationship with his estranged ex-wife Michelle and daughter Amelia. Oh, and he also needs to avoid the white supremacists that hold Jerry’s personal marker—except to them, he’s Danny McClure—and keep up his Drÿvÿr rating.

Eisner and Harvey Award nominated writer Jordan Hart and co-writer David Ebeltoft team up with up-and-coming artist Chiara Raimondi for the vibrant and magical five-issue miniseries, The Cabinet. This technicolor-drenched, tongue-in-cheek adventure begins in February 2024 from Image Comics’ Syzygy line.
Each vibrant issue will also feature an interconnected variant cover by Eisner, Shuster, Manning, and GLADD Award nominated artist Marguerite Sauvage.
The Cabinet follows an Indian-American teen, Avani, and midwestern jock, Trent, on a teleporting mission across a post-Cold War landscape to collect bizarre relics. Why? Well, because they need to summon the arcane powers of a resplendent 17th-century cabinet to fix a teeny-tiny mistake the last time Avani used it… a gaffe that inadvertently unleashed an ancient evil from its prison and killed her parents.
The Cabinet #1 will be available at comic book shops on Wednesday, February 14, 2024:
