DC reveals “Punk Rock” Variant Covers for January 2026

DC Comics is kicking off 2026 with a six-string scream. This January, DC will publish a set of punk rock-themed variant covers across six comic book titles that feature Superman, Supergirl, and more, each one a rebellious remix of the Man (and Woman) of Tomorrow, brought to life by some of comics’ most fearless artists.

From safety pins to zine-style slogans, these comic book covers channel the raw energy, DIY spirit, and anti-establishment ethos of punk rock, all while celebrating the enduring power of Superman, Supergirl, and their allies to stand up, speak out, and fight for what’s right. Kindness is the new punk rock!

DC’s Punk Rock Variant Cover Lineup:

  • Action Comics #1094 – Annie Wu turns up the distortion with a punk-rock Superboy thrashing an electric guitar mid-solo, amps blazing and attitude dialed to eleven.
  • Superman #34 – Dave Johnson delivers a bold, black-and-white zine-style cover with the rallying cry “Kindness is the new punk rock” scrawled across Superman.
  • Superman Unlimited #9 – Mike Allred goes full anarcho-pop, plastering Superman over a giant anarchy symbol surrounded by safety pins, torn textures, and retro rebellion.
  • Supergirl #9 – Marguerite Sauvage paints Kara Zor-El as a punk heroine: fierce, stylish, and ready to break the mold.
  • Batman/Superman: World’s Finest #47 – Fabrizio De Tommaso captures the duo looking like they just stepped out of a gig and into a showdown.
  • Justice League Unlimited #15 – Dan Hipp transforms Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman into punk rock icons in his signature vibrant style: patched jackets, wild hair, and all the attitude you can handle.

Dorbz: DC Wave 2 in October

Funko is excited to announce that the DC Super Heroes are back with an all new wave of adorable DC Dorbz!

This series features classic versions of some of your favorite and most iconic DC Super Heroes.

Joining the lineup is the underwater Super Hero Aquaman, the soaring Hawkman and, Krypton’s Superman, and Supergirl!

Look for the Red Son chase version of Superman! A 1-in-6 rarity.

“Supergirl: The Complete Second Season” comes to Blu-ray & DVD on August 22, 2017

Fans can purchase the set which, in addition to all 22 super-powered episodes, contains an exclusive commentary with Andrew Kreisberg and Kevin Smith, the show’s 2016 Comic-Con panel, featurettes, and more! Supergirl: The Complete Second Season is priced at $49.99 SRP for the DVD and $54.97 SRP for the Blu-ray which includes a Digital Copy. Supergirl: The Complete Second Season is also available to own on Digital HD via purchase from digital retailers.

Having left the safety of being Cat Grant’s assistant at Catco Worldwide Media in order to figure out what she really wants to do, Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist) continues to work with Hank Henshaw aka Martian Manhunter (David Harewood) and her adoptive sister Alex (Chyler Leigh) at the DEO as Supergirl – protecting the citizens of National City and searching for her missing father Jeremiah (Dean Cain) and the secret research lab Cadmus. Along the way, she will team up with her Kryptonian cousin Kal El – aka Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) – to battle new DC Super-Villains both terrestrial and extraterrestrial, as she strives to balance her personal life with friends/allies James Olsen (Mehcad Brooks), Winn Schott (Jeremy Jordan) and more with her busy life as a new Super Hero in SUPERGIRL Season Two.

With Blu-ray’s unsurpassed picture and sound, the Blu-ray release of Supergirl: The Complete Second Season will include 1080p Full HD Video with DTS-HD Master Audio for English 5.1. The 4-disc Blu-ray will feature a high-definition Blu-ray and a Digital Copy of all 22 episodes from season two.

Supergirl stars Melissa Benoist (Glee), Mehcad Brooks (About Last Night), Chyler Leigh (Grey’s Anatomy), Jeremy Jordan (Smash) and Floriana Lima (Lethal Weapon), with Chris Wood (Containment) and David Harewood (Homeland).  Based on the characters from DC Comics by special arrangement with the Jerry Siegel family, Supergirl is produced by Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros.
