Street Fighter Unlimited #1 Covers and Variants Revealed

Street Fighter Unlimited #1 is pre-orderable now at comic specialty retailers everywhere, and will feature a bevy of exciting variant covers! The all-new monthly comics series from UDON Entertainment arrives in December 2015, and launch a whole new era for the World Warriors! Featuring the main creative team of writer Ken Siu-chong and artist Joe Ng, the first issue also sports a bonus back-up story by the duo of Jim Zub and Edwin Huang.

Each issue of the ongoing series will ship with two standard covers. CVR A (Story cover) features the art of digital painter Genzoman. Each issue’s CVR B (Ultra Jam variant), drawn by Jeffrey “Chamba” Cruz, will connect to form one massive 12-part image featuring all the playable characters from every Street Fighter game – over 60 characters!

Also available is a special Street Fighter Unlimited #1 Blank Sketch cover. Printed in both standard and gold foil versions, fans will be able to use these wraparound blank covers when obtaining convention sketches from their favorite UDON artists!

Street Fighter Unlimited #1 will also ship with several limited run retailer incentive covers. The first of these is the “Street Wars” homage variant, honoring one of the most famous comic covers of the 1980s. More homage variants will follow on subsequent issues, paying tribute to both retro and modern comic book covers and series. Additional Street Fighter Unlimited #1 incentive covers include a “Street Fighter V variant” showcasing the cover art of the upcoming Capcom game, as well as an extremely limited variant cover by legendary Capcom artist Bengus! Street Fighter, Golden Axe, Monster Hunter, and more join Mega Man and Sonic for Worlds Unite

Archie Comics‘ “Worlds Collide” brought together Sonic the Hedgehog and Mega Man. Now its sequel “Worlds Unite” will expand on that adding more popular video game franchises from Sega and Capcom, including Street Fighter, Monster Hunter, and more.

Expanding beyond the focus on the worlds of Sonic the Hedgehog and Mega Man, “Worlds Unite” will also feature characters from the fan favorite Sonic Boom and Mega Man X universes.

Classic Sega franchises such as Alex Kidd, Billy Hatcher, Golden Axe, NiGHTS, Skies of Arcadia, and Panzer Dragoon will be involved in the world-spanning epic, along with characters from Capcom’s popular Breath of Fire, Ghosts N’ Goblins, Monster Hunter, Street Fighter, Okami, and Viewtiful Joe series.

“Worlds Unite” begins in May with a special prelude comic available for free in comic book stores nationwide on Free Comic Book Day. The 12-part crossover event begins in Sonic Universe #76 and continues through the other Archie Action titles including Sonic Boom, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Mega Man.

SDCC 2013: UDON comes to ComiXology

At San Diego Comic-Con 2013, UDON Entertainment and comiXology announced that UDON’s line onf comics will now be available on the digital platform. To kick off the announcement, the two companies released seven full-length comic books and graphic novels from UDON Entertainment’s back catalog.

UDON Entertainment’s fans across the globe can now experience UDON’S licensed and original comics, graphic novels, manga, and even art books, through the power of comiXology’s Guided View reading technology and with Retina Display will get to experience these works in stunning high-definition with CMX-HD. Plus there’s the bonus of taking all of the comics on the go.

The launch titles are:

Street Fighter Heroclix

Street Fighter is getting the Heroclix treatment courtesy of Wizkids. What’s even cooler than the figures is the fact these will be fully compatible with other Heroclix sets. You can pit Ryu, Ken, Guile and the lot versus your favorite Marvel, DC and other comic characters.

The expansion and game will be released on August 10 and feature 27 sculpts. The figures will be sold in single boxes for $2.99 which will get you a random figure. The Capcom Street Fighter HeroClix figures are also available in a Starter 6-Pack. The starter set retails for $19.99. Much like the other starter sets players will be able to play right out of the box. The starter set includes characters like Guile, Ryu, and Blanka that are “completely redialed” and feature alternate paint schemes from those used in the base set. In addition the Starter 6-Pack includes character cards, 4 exclusive maps, 2 custom dice, and a 2011 HeroClix rulebook.
