Wizard World Presents Star Trek: TNG Panel Featuring Sir Patrick Stewart At Wizard World Chicago

Fans of Star Trek: The Next Generation, the highly successful 1987-1994 follow up to the original Star Trek television series, are in for a special treat as six of its stars reunite for a unique celebration of the 20th anniversary of the program’s final episode on Sunday, August 24 from 5-6:45 p.m. “Captain Kirk” from the original, William Shatner, hosts as the “TNG” bridge crew of Sir Patrick Stewart, Jonathan Frakes, Levar Burton, Michael Dorn, Marina Sirtis, Brent Spiner, and Gates McFadden relive the memories of the program’s seven-year run.

The event will be held at the Rosemont Theater (5400 N. River Rd., Rosemont). Tickets range from $30 to $150; more information available at wizd.me/StarTrekTNGChicago. A Wizard World Chicago Comic Con admission is not required to attend the TNG reunion panel, but William Shatner Platinum VIPs are admitted free with Tier 1 seating.

Shatner is a one man force of nature who delivers a larger than life performance complete with his laugh-out-loud humor and signature storytelling in his inimitable style. Fans can enjoy this rare and special appearance produced in conjunction with Lightspeed Fine Arts. All ticket buyers receive a limited-edition lithograph exclusive to this event.

The Emmy Award and Tony Award nominee Stewart, who has performed in more than 100 television and film roles, will also attend the convention, signing autographs, posing for photo ops and greeting fans on Saturday and Sunday.

Captain Picard Gets Packaged! Plus: Star Trek on Ice!

Star Trek fans who have gotten the chance to play with the first two figures in the Star Trek Select action figure line have been waiting for their chance to get their hands on the next one, and hes almost here! Captain Jean-Luc Picard, from Star Trek: The Next Generation, will be joining the original series Captain Kirk and Mr. Spock in the 7-inch scale, and weve got packaging shots!

Dynamically sculpted by Patrick Pigott, Art Asylums lead Star Trek figure sculptor since 2003, Picards default stance is firing a phaser at an unseen foe, but seven points of articulation in his upper body allow him a wide range of expressive poses. Also, his hands and legs are interchangeable with other figures in the Select line, which means youll be able to give him Mr. Spocks classic Tricorder and Phaser. He stands atop a base representing the interior of a Borg cube, and the torso and arm of an exploded Borg rests at his feet. The parts are also removable from the base, so you can take them back to the Enterprise for study when the figure hits stores in late December.

Then, when Picard gets back from his mission, its time to kick back and relax at Ten-Forward, with the new Star Trek: TNG Silicone Tray. Hitting stores around the same time as Picard, you can fill it with water, chocolate or gelatin to make a frosty drink or a tasty snack, all in the shape of the Starfeet Insignia and the Enterprise-D! Save the Date: Wizard World NYC Experience June 28-30

Experience New York City, differently, as Wizard World brings together celebrities, creators, sports stars, music, exhibitors, parties and other attractions at the 2013 Wizard World New York City Experience, June 28-30. Comics legend Stan Lee, Star Trek: The Next Generation icon Patrick Stewart and The Walking Dead trio of Norman Reedus, Michael Rooker and Jon Bernthal are the first stars scheduled to attend the extravaganza at Basketball City (Pier 36) in lower Manhattan, overlooking the iconic Brooklyn Bridge and Statue of Liberty and steps away from vibrant South Street Seaport.

Tickets go on sale for this exclusive event, with limited tickets available, on March 1 at www.wizardworld.com. Additional guests, special receptions and events, start and end times and ticket prices will be announced shortly.

Wizard World NYC Experience will be the fourth of eight events on the 2013 calendar, which also currently includes shows in Portland, Ore. (Feb. 22-24), St. Louis (March 22-24), Philadelphia (May 30 – June 2), Chicago (Aug. 8-11), Columbus, Ohio (Sept. 20-22), Nashville, Tenn. (Oct. 18-20) and Austin, Texas (Nov. 22-24). Wizard World has also scheduled its next New Orleans date (Feb. 7-9, 2014).

Two Generations of the U.S.S. Enterprise are Headed Home in New Packaging!

Diamond Select Toys is moving two more Star Trek ships out of drydock, and this time their packaging is getting the refit! The U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-B (from Star Trek: Generations) and NCC-1701-D (from Star Trek: The Next Generation) are headed to stores in the next month, with lights and sounds from their screen appearances, and DST has revealed their new packaging design. Check out both new ships in their boxes below, and pre-order them from your local comic shop or your favorite online retailer!

Walking Dead, Star Trek and Game of Throne Fans to Vote Obama?

Engage, a conservative full service political digital agency, has released a graphic looking at who television show watchers are likely to vote for this November and how likely they are to vote. While fans of Star Trek: The Next Generation, Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead and The Big Bang Theory all are more likely to vote for President Obama, only Star Trek fans are likely to get to the polls. C’mon fellow geeks, we need to show our strength at the polls, get out this Tuesday (if not before) and vote!
