SDCC 2018: Lights’ Skin&Earth will Feature Exclusive Access to New Art, Bonus Materials, and Album

Alt-pop phenom and comics artist Lights has announced the graphic novel edition of her ground-breaking comic series Skin&Earth, set for release this July via Dynamite Entertainment. The six-issue story arc, written and illustrated in its entirety by Lights and in conjunction with last fall’s Skin&Earth album, is collected in a 200-page hardcover edition and trade paperback, along with a personal introduction by Lights, digital codes giving access to the music, and additional variant art, including a contribution by comic heavyweight, Jim Lee. The comic series and corresponding album are combined here for the first time in this interactive edition, which will be premiered by Lights at 2018 San Diego Comic Con.

The collected edition includes:

  • All six issues of the Skin&Earth comic book
  • Interactive ShareCodes to access the full album, music videos and other bonus content
  • Links to merch from the series

Lights’ Skin & Earth Gets a Hardcover Special Edition

Dynamite Entertainment has announced the release of a special hardcover collection of the ground-breaking new series Skin & Earth, written and drawn by pop phenomenon Lights. The six-issue story behind the musician’s most recently released full album is collected here along with a personal introduction by Lights, digital codes giving access to the music and additional art by Jim Lee, Joby Harris, Derek Lewis, Gianna Rose, and Matt Mitchell.

Skin&Earth is a story of a girl looking for hope in a hopeless world. Caught between romance and cults, gods and mortals, and just trying to find a good borscht, Enaia Jin is lead down a dark path by new lovers that reveals a twisted fantasy world and her own true nature. Set in a post-apocalyptic future ruled by the Tempest Corporation, the adventurous tale of loneliness, deceit and self-discovery that ties in with the 14-track corresponding album is compiled for the first time here with the complete comic book series, in one epic interactive collected edition!

Dynamite to Offer Lights’ Skin & Earth #1 for Just 10 Cents!

Earlier this year, electro-pop sensation Lights revealed the details of her next project, Skin&Earth – an album and comic book series written and illustrated entirely by Lights herself. The monthly comic book series kicked off in July, with new music released alongside each issue, leading into the release of Skin&Earth, Lights’ new full-length studio album on Warner Bros. Records in September.

Now, for an extremely limited time, Dynamite Entertainment is offering the first issue digitally for just a dime! Issues 2-4 are also available for just $1.99 each!

The comic series follows a young woman, En – a reflection of Lights herself – as she struggles to find hope in a hopeless world. Caught between romance and cults, gods and mortals, En is led down a dark path by new friends/lovers into a twisted fantasy world, forcing her to dig within and find the strength to overcome. Set in a post-apocalyptic future where corporations rule, Skin&Earth is an adventurous tale of loneliness and deceit, but ultimately becomes one of self-discovery and independence.

Skin&Earth #5 is out Wednesday, November 15th, with the sixth and final issue available for preorder through your local comic book retailer.
