Sophie Cooper has overcome a lot in the last couple of years, all in the hopes of convincing the world that her dad is not a criminal. She’s solved some murders, outwitted a time-traveling mad scientist, gained psychic powers (only to give ‘em right back), raised a flying saucer from the Everglades — even while celebrating her Quinceñera, surviving high school, navigating a love triangle, and interning for the local TV news station, WMIA 7. But now Sophie faces off against the deadliest threat yet…herself! When a sinister Sophie doppelgänger appears on the scene, spouting fake news and debunking all that the real Sophie has worked so hard to achieve, our intrepid teen reporter must face facts. Will she ever prove her father’s innocence? Would anyone believe her anyway? Or have Sophie’s investigations only put a giant target on her family, her friends, and that which she values above all else — the truth?

The Renaissance Wasn’t Ready for This! Leo Da Vinci: Renaissance Kid arrives April 2026

After moving to Florence, young Leo da Vinci teams up with two unlikely friends to challenge corruption with art, pranks, and inventions—all before their world ends!

Papercutz presents Leo Da Vinci: Renaissance Kid, a dazzling, full-color middle-grade adventure from award-winning writer Richard Ashley Hamilton and Italian illustrator Marco Matrone. This exciting historical romp re-imagines the world’s most iconic genius as a rebellious, prank-loving kid on a mission to prove that imagination can change the world!

Most people think of Leonardo da Vinci as some old guy who painted stuff hundreds of years ago—but even da Vinci was once a bold, troublemaking kid who craved adventure!

Young Leo spends his childhood exploring art (and creepy caves) while engineering fantastical machines of wonder in the freedom of his hometown…until his estranged dad drags Leo to an apprenticeship far away. Now our boy genius finds himself out of his depth and in a city on the brink of war! Fortunately, Leo also finds two new friends who will change his life forever. Together, they uncover a deadly conspiracy that threatens the entire world, even if nobody believes them. So Leo must grab everyone’s attention the only way he knows how—with elaborate pranks that harness the true power of art to open eyes, change minds, and save the day.

Leo Da Vinci: Renaissance Kid (HC 9781545823743 | PB 9781545823750) hits bookstores, comic shops, and digital retailers April 14, 2026 (the day before Leonardo Da Vinci’s actual birthday!)

When shy 6th-grade shutterbug Whit Garcia starts middle school, he’s forced to join a yearbook club with three other weirdos who will never be voted “most likely to succeed.” But after the ghosts of missing students start haunting them, Whit, Hester, Hillary and Press must solve the supernatural secret behind these spirits — or their yearbook club will be voted most likely to join them.

But are these ghostly students the real bad guys? Or are they just warning Whit and his friends? Warning them about a darkness beyond their schoolyard…a darkness that threatens to swallow the school – and its occupants – whole.

The sophomore offering from Seismic Press, FEARBOOK CLUB is a story all about fitting in, fighting ghosts and forming friendships with other misfits, especially when you’re a misfit yourself. Springing from the pen of writer Richard Ashley Hamilton (How To Train Your Dragon, Guillermo Del Toro’s Trollhunters) and artist Marco Matrone.

AfterShock Launches Seismic Press, a New YA Imprint

Seismic Press

AfterShock Comics has announced the debut of Seismic Press, a new imprint focused exclusively on groundbreaking content for readers in the 12-18 age range. Seismic Press will debut its first title, Rainbow Bridge, from creators Steve Orlando and Steve Foxe and illustrator Valentina Brancati, this coming August.

Seismic’s inaugural title, Rainbow Bridge, from creators Steve Orlando and Steve Foxe, is slated for debut in late summer and will focus on the story of Andy, a boy whose canine best friend passes away just before he enters high school, leaving him alone and rudderless. The day before school starts, when Andy is at his lowest, he visits Rocket’s grave and unexpectedly summons the Rainbow Bridge, a gateway to a wondrous world where pets discover their afterlife. With roles reversed, Andy is there to support his childhood guardian during one last epic adventure as Rocket embarks on a fantasy quest to find his lost littermate while ultimately giving Andy the confidence he needs as he enters his high school years.

Additional titles under the Seismic Press imprint will begin rolling forth at the start of 2022 and will include original works by How To Train Your Dragon’s Richard Ashley Hamilton and Ted Anderson. Plans for the line also include the repackaging of AfterShock series that have already demonstrated strong YA appeal, including The Lollipop Kids, written by Adam Glass and Aidan Glass with illustrations by Diego Yapur, and Oberon, written by Ryan Parrott and drawn by Milos Slavkovi.
