Unmatched Adventures takes the award-winning fighting system from standard Unmatched and adds a fun cooperative angle as 1 to 4 players work together to defeat one of two villains in the set. The Turtles face off against Shredder, as he sends waves of Footsoldiers across the Big Apple. Or dare to enter the Technodrome and match wits with Krang, who uses the unpredictable traps and gadgets from Dimension X. And keep an eye on the multitude of minions they can call on: Bebop and Rocksteady, Baxter Stockman, Leatherhead, and more!

Gen Con 2025: Unmatched is getting two more expansions, Hellboy and Stars and Stripes

Restoration Games has revealed two more expansions for Unmatched, Unmatched: Hellboy and Unmatched: Stars and Stripes.

Unmatched: Hellboy brings the popular character to the tabletop. Hellboy joins numerous characters from Marvel as well as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as characters that have jumped from the comic page to the board. This four character box set will release in 2026 and feature cover art by Mike Mignola himself!

Unmatched: Stars and Stripes features heroes from the USA’s past. The box features four heroes, three of which from a design contest. It includes Rosie the Riveter, George Washington, John Henry, and it looks like Wyatt Earp.

Now we can have George Washington battle a dinosaur or Deadpool!

Both sets will be released in 2026. You can sign up to find when Unmatched: Hellboy and Unmatched: Stars and Stripes launch to be ordered.

Unmatched pits characters, both real and imaginary, against each other as they battle it out on a board. The mixes card management, miniatures, and board game for a fun experience where you can match up battles that could only happen on the tabletop.

This new set will be available in 2025 and brings back the in-demand Bruce Lee hero and introduces the new Muhammad Ali fighter with a double sided board featuring two new battlefields. Lee quickly sold out in his initial release and has been going for a lot of money on his own.

Restoration Games announces Unmatched: Battle of Legends Vol. 3

Restoration Games has announced the third and final installment of the Battle of Legends trilogy for Unmatched, the award-winning game of epic battles between unlikely opponents. The set will release in stores this summer. As with all Unmatched releases, the set will be available early on their website with special foil promo cards.

In keeping with the “ultimate mashup” vibe of the Legends sets, the four disparate heroes are Blackbeard, Loki, Chupacabra, and Pandora — the first three of those were all runners-up in the deck design contest from 2020. The set also adds two new battlefields including Santa’s Workshop which features a brand-new map mechanic.

Unmatched first released in 2019 to critical acclaim. Since that time, Restoration Games has released 19 sets, spanning the breadth of history, myth, and fiction, and featuring some of the most popular properties in the world. All told, Unmatched has sold nearly a million copies worldwide.

At PAX Unplugged, Restoration Games announced their next Kickstarter campaign: Battle Monsters!

Battle Monsters is a restoration of Battle Masters, but with a twist. Battle Masters was originally a collaboration between Milton Bradley and Games Wokrshop released in 1992 and took its inspiration from Games Workshops fantasy game, Warhammer.

Battle Monsters will be more epic with licensed monsters from the Godzilla universe!

The Witcher is getting two releases for Restoration Games‘ tabletop game, Unmatched. Unmatched Witcher – Steel & Silver and Unmatched Witcher – Realms Fall. The two expansions that bring the popular world to the tabletop.

Unmatched is a board/miniature game where you use a cards to decide on moves and battle it out against your opponent. The expansions are varied and can be played against each other. The Witcher could be played against Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Marvel characters, a dinosaur, Bruce Lee and more.

You can get the expansions in a bundle for $100 which comes with a special Geralt in the Bathtub Miniature, or get each for $50 with the Geralt bathtub miniature for $15.

Play as the “White Wolf” himself, lead Ciri to her destiny as the Lady of Space and Time, fight as Eredin – the King of the Wild Hunt, and race across the battlements of Kaer Morhen to stalk your foe. Mix and match heroes and maps from any Unmatched set for endless epic battles!

Restoration Games adds Beth Erikson and Paul Marchbanks to the team

Restoration Games has announced two new members on their growing team. Beth Erikson joins as the “Lead Marketing Alchemist”, working with their Master-of-Fireworks, Suzanne Sheldon, to drive interest and awareness of their product line. Beth has extensive history in the industry, including time at Z-Man Games and Pegasus Spiele.

Paul Marchbanks takes the role of “Warehouse Warlock”, overseeing inventory management, warehousing, and similar duties. He comes over from a stint at Quartermaster Logistics, where he helped creators manage their crowdfunding fulfillment. These duties were previously handled by Josh Willenbrink, Restoration’s Meeple Mover. Josh will now be moving over to sales, keeping the same title.

Willenbrink joined Restoration within the past year along with Josh Heake, who serves as the company’s Frown Inversion Engineer, providing top-of-class customer service.

Restoration Games‘ Unmatched is a board/miniature game where you pit characters against each other. With a wide range of “themes,” the game allows the ability to have fun matches like Robin Hood vs. Daredevil, Deadpool vs. Jurassic Park T-Rex, and has themes ranging from Shakespeare to Buffy the Vampire Slayer. One of the harder to get sets is Bruce Lee, released early on it has been unavailable for quite some time. Now, the Bruce Lee drought will end with the announcement of Unmatched: Muhammad Ali vs Bruce Lee.

The expansion to be released in 2025 pits two legendary sports icons against each other. Not only does it feature the two legends but also a new double-sided board featuring two new battlefields.

Restoration Games has said this is a release of Bruce Lee with cosmetic changes on his cards and maybe some language updates, but the same character released some time ago.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles come to Unmatched Adventures

Restoration Games as teased their next release for Unmatched Adventures, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! Coming to Kickstarter in September 2024, you can sign up to be notified when it launches and get a special backer freebie.

Unmatched Adventures is a new way to play the popular Unmatched board/miniature game. Instead of battling other players, you can team to take down villains and their minions which are controlled by the game. Unmatched Adventures: Tales to Amaze launched on Kickstarter and was supported by 8,999 backers who pledged $481,102.

You can also use the characters from Unmatched Adventures in a regular game of Unmatched. Unmatched is a board game with miniatures that pits them against each other. The game features a wide range of characters including some from Marvel, Robin Hood, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Jurassic Park, Bruce Lee, Shakespeare, and more! Yes, the Turtles will be able to fight Marvel characters like Deadpool, Daredevil, and more, and you can pit them against Bruce Lee!
