SDCC 2024: Lionsgate and Stern Pinball Showcase John Wick Pinball Games and More

In collaboration with Lionsgate, Stern Pinball, Inc. is bringing John Wick to San Diego Comic-Con where fans may play the new pinball game, check out exclusive merchandise, and view movie props used in connection with the actual filming of John Wick!

In Stern’s John Wick pinball games, players step into the role of the world’s greatest assassin as he fights to escape his past. As the titular character, players can engage in high-speed car chases and fast-action drifting across the playfield, which incorporates models and artwork inspired by iconic locations from the franchise, including the New York Continental Hotel and the Red Circle Club, all set against a dramatically edge lit New York City skyline. Players need to survive other adversaries, complete jobs for the legendary Factions of the High Table, and eventually take on John Wick’s “Special Assignment!” John Wick is set apart from other pinball games with Stern’s all-new dynamic AI combat system, an innovation that brings the frenetic combat of the legendary films to the game.

John Wick pinball will be featured at Stern’s long-standing Pop-Up Arcade, located outside the convention center at the Marriott Marquis, along with several other beloved Stern Pinball titles. Additionally, fans won’t want to miss the official props from the John Wick universe that will be available for viewing at the Stern Pinball booth, located on the show floor.

After going head-to-head with enemies, fans can get their hands on exclusive John Wick merchandise, including John Wick x Stern Pinball T-shirts and a limited-edition LP album featuring the game’s original score, signed by composer Charlie Benante of Anthrax and Pantera fame. Celerbate Heavy Metal with a New Pinball Machine from Stern Pinball and Incendium

Stern Pinball and Incendium have announced a new limited edition pinball machine celebrating the world’s greatest illustrated magazine, Heavy Metal. The Heavy Metal pinball machine is available exclusively from Incendium.

The Heavy Metal pinball machine commemorates the 300th issue of Heavy Metal, which has been running since 1977 and inspired the 1981 animated movie of the same name. An exclusive variant cover edition of issue 300 will be included with every machine. Heavy Metal is working with Incendium as a premier licensing partner to align with premium brands and their products.

The original art created for the Heavy Metal pinball machine art pays tribute to characters and worlds from the magazine’s storied history. New additions from its upcoming publications join this shared universe for the first time. Gameplay revolves around the warrior heroine, Taarna, and the undead tailgunner, Nelson. Both, will speak for the first time ever, supporting the in-game narrative.

Stern Pinball, Inc. announced at San Diego Comic-Con 2019 the Star Wars Pin, a new stylish, affordable and fun pinball machine designed and engineered for the home.   

Stern’s new Star Wars Pin immerses players in the dynamic Star Wars galaxy. The Pin is packed with features that provide players with an irresistible game experience including select speech and footage from the original Star Wars trilogy, color-changing playfield inserts, a custom sculpted Death Star, and a custom sculpted and interactive TIE fighter.

The easy to setup Star Wars Pin is built to last and engineered with genuine Stern commercial-quality parts. The playfield is housed in a stylish cabinet with dynamic, high definition artwork. The all-LED playfield lighting provides optimal color and brilliant light shows.

Complementing the immersive theme and exciting gameplay experience, Stern Pinball’s powerful SPIKE electronics hardware system enables high-definition graphics and innovative animations. SPIKE reduces system complexity and energy usage, resulting in enhanced reliability and simplified servicing.

Stern Pinball & Ka-Pow Pinball Celebrates 50 Years of Batman ’66

Stern Pinball, Inc. has announced the availability of its highly anticipated Batman ‘66 Anniversary Edition pinball machine.

Stern Pinball is celebrating its 30th year in business and the 50th anniversary of the iconic American TV series with an Anniversary Edition pinball machine featuring the world famous “Dynamic Duo” of Batman and Robin. The game will immerse players in campy fun and heart-pounding action as the crime fighting Dynamic Duo comes to the aid of the Gotham City Police. Throughout the game, Batman and Robin work to deduce clues and discover super villain plots in an effort to thwart evil plans and capture bad guys.  Players are guided through the game by the voices of none other than the original Batman and Robin, Adam West and Burt Ward.

A Hall of Fame pinball development team created the all new Anniversary Edition machine. The project was inspired by Joe Kaminkow of Ka-Pow Pinball and spearheaded by Stern Pinball product development chief, George Gomez, who, along with renowned programmer, Lyman Sheats, brought the game to life.

In addition to the fun title and game experience, the machine features a full-color high definition display replacing the dot matrix display. In conjunction with Stern’s new SPIKE-2 electronic pinball platform, the display enables high definition graphics and innovative animations. This enables the game to feature actual TV footage from the iconic series. The game includes a second high definition display on the playfield as part of an interactive game feature.

The Batman ‘66 Anniversary Edition pinball machine will be available in Premium, Limited Edition, and Super Limited Edition models.  The company has no current plans to produce a Pro model.

In celebration of Stern Pinball’s 30th anniversary and Batman’s 50th anniversary, Stern Pinball will build a Super Limited Edition model. The Super Limited Edition model also includes a one-of-kind art package plus multiple translites, a unique included topper and accessories package, and a high-fidelity 3-channel audio system that is three times more powerful than audio systems of previous generations.  The Super Limited Edition model will be allocated by invitation and through an application process open to pinball collectors. Collectors can apply for a Super Limited Edition model by completing and submitting an application.

The Limited Edition model will be offered in two series of 120 games each. Each game in the first series will be named for one of the 120 episodes of the television show. Each game in the second series will be named for one of the iconic “bat gadgets” used in the series. In total, only 240 Limited Edition machines will be produced.

All purchasers who make a deposit on their game will also receive a VIP invitation to an exclusive “meet and greet” with Batman (Adam West) at the Westin Chicago North Shore Hotel in Wheeling, Illinois during the weekend of Chicago’s Pinball Expo.

Spider-Man Vault Edition Pinball Debuts at CES

The 2016 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) has kicked off, and Stern Pinball, Inc. has debuted new pinball machines including its Spider-Man Vault Edition pinball machine for the first time along with other pinball favorites including Game of Thrones, KISS and Whoa Nellie!

Inspired by the Marvel Universe Comic series, Spider-Man Vault Edition is an update of the original pinball classic. The game features all-new art, animation and sound packages based on the legendary Ultimate Spider-Man comic series.

All current Stern pinball machines feature the new SPIKETM electronics hardware system. SPIKE™ reduces system complexity, energy usage, and simplifies manufacturing, which results in, improved reliability, easier-to-service games and energy conservation. A cool update to the classic game.

Stern Pinball Partners With FarSight Studios

FarSight will develop a new digital platform called the Stern Pinball Arcade that will feature exact virtual replicas of Stern Pinball’s hottest terrestrial pinball machines.

FarSight Studios has been developing top videogame products across platforms for more than two decades. From movie licensed strategy games and hardcore sports titles to edutainment games for kids and mass-market software. Over the years, FarSight has developed many best-selling franchises, such as Game Party, Sega Sports’ NFL games for the Genesis, NCAA college football games for EA, Backyard Sports for Atari, PlayTV for Radica/Mattel and the Pinball Hall of Fame for Crave.

Inspired by the hit HBO drama series, the newest Stern machines put players in the heat of battle where noble families fight for control of the Iron Throne of the Seven Kingdoms.

Stern’s Game of Thrones Pro, Premium, and Limited Edition machines are packed with features and toys that provide an irresistible challenge to play against kings, knights, knaves and dragons. Each player can choose to be a Knight of the Stark, Lannister, Greyjoy, Baratheon, Martell, or Tyrell family Houses, and pick other Houses to battle. Game of Thrones actor Rory McCann as Sandor Clegane (The Hound) guides the player throughout the game with authenticity and strong presence. The goal of the game is to rule the seven kingdoms of Westeros.

All three models feature an animated, interactive dragon that roars, flies, and breathes fire through the magic of all-LED lit playfields. Players can slam the ball into the Battering Ram, attempting to break down the Castle Doors and grab features such as Super Jackpots, Wild Fire, and Playfield Score Multipliers. The animated mechanical Sword of Multiball holds back reinforcements until it’s time to attack. A bank of three Drop-Targets lights the Lord of Light Lanes to protect against side drains and awards other progressive features. A Kickback fires the ball in anger when struck.

An Action Button is featured on the front molding for the largest array of interactive play features ever seen in a pinball machine.

The Game of Thrones Pro model includes all the above features and 7 multicolor Shield inserts that represent the great Houses of Westeros and special shots on the playfield. Lightning-fast ramps and orbits send the ball on fascinating and versatile courses throughout the game.

Enter a whole new realm with Game of Thrones Premium and Limited Edition Pinball models. Vastly different from the Pro model, both Premium and Limited Editions feature a massive and challenging Castle upper playfield with a second set of full size flippers, shots and an animated Dragon. An Elevator serving two “floors” brings the ball up to the Castle where the players battle against Houses and Dragons. Stern Pinball Announces a Premium Edition of AMC’s The Walking Dead Pinball

Stern Pinball has announced the availability of the Premium Edition of AMC’s The Walking Dead pinball machine. This is in response to continued strong demand for the title.

The Walking Dead Premium Edition offers the same fan-favorite game play as the sold-out LE model, full of extra features such as additional targets, a special-effect fish tank with illuminated sculpted zombie heads, and a player-controlled motorized crossbow pinball launcher. A new high-definition art package adds to the player’s experience of battling zombies and completing game missions.  The Premium Edition rounds out the three model lineup of AMC’s The Walking Dead Pinball, which includes Pro, Premium, and Limited Edition models.

The Premium Edition will cost you $7,595 (MSRP).
