NYCC 2013: Adventure Time Joins TimesTalk for a Panel Discussion

The New York Times is bringing the classy to New York Comic Con with a special panel featuring the creator and stars of Adventure Time. New York Times culture reporter Dave Itzkoff will be joined by creator Pendleton Ward, John DiMaggio, Jeremy Shada, Rebecca Sugar and Kent Osborne for a discussion about the  Emmy Award-winning animated series from Cartoon Network Adventure Time.

TimesTalks launched in 1998 and features conversations between New York Times journalists with today’s leaders in culture and the arts, politics and world affairs, and ideas and media.

You can check out this panel, Sunday October 13 from 11am to 12pm at the Javits Center.

Bravest Warriors #1 Sells Out, Goes to Second Print

BOOM! Studios has announced that Bravest Warriors #1 has sold out and gone to second print five days before its release on October 24th! Fans should keep in mind first printings of Bravest Warriors #1 may still be found at the local comic shop nearest you when it hits shelves tomorrow.

Bravest Warriors, the most recent debut from BOOM!’s successful all-ages imprint, kaBOOM! Studios, is based on the new animated series by Adventure Time creator Pendleton Ward. Bravest Warriors #1 features a main story by writer Joey Comeau and artist Mike Holmes and a special backup story by Ryan Pequin. Bravest Warriors #1 second print will be available from Diamond Comic Distributors the last week of October.

NYCC 2012 – BOOM! Debuts Bravest Warriors #1

BOOM! is debuting Bravest Warriors #1 at New York Comic Con with an exclusive cover at the Bravest Warriors Launch Party on Friday October 12th, at Jim Hanley’s Universe.  Created by Adventure Time creator, Pendleton Ward, Bravest Warriors is the first animated series debuting on Cartoon Hangover on YouTube in October and follows the adventures of four 16-year-old heroes-for-hire in space!

Featuring exclusive cover art by animator Bob Flynn, this limited edition issue #1 will be available two weeks prior to Bravest Warriors#1 arriving in stores on October 24, 2012. Fans attending the Bravest Warriors Launch Party will have an opportunity to get the first issue signed by cover artist Flynn and Bravest Warriors writer/producer and Executive Producer, Breehn Burns on Friday night. The party, being put on by BOOM! Studios, Channel Frederator and Jim Hanley’s Universe will take place from 6pm – 9pm. In addition to the opportunity to get Bravest Warriors #1 before anyone else, fans will have the chance to enjoy a screening of the first episode of Bravest Warriors, enter a costume contest for fabulous prizes, and enjoy food and drink while mingling with staff from BOOM! and Frederator. SDCC 2012 – KaBOOM! Announces Bravest Warriors and Pendleton Ward Signing at SDCC

KaBOOM! has announced this October it’s launching Bravest Warriors based on the new Pendleton Ward cartoon. The comic will be written by Joey Comeau with art by Mike Holmes. The first issue will ship with main covers by Tyson Hesse and Maris Wicks. As well as Marc Bell, Jim Rugg and Pendleton Ward variants. This title is a six-issue mini-series which is accessible to all ages. Each issue will run a full 32 pages and will carry a $3.99 price point.

KaBOOM! is also announcing a last minute signing at San Diego Comic Con with Pendleton Ward, creator of the brand new animated series that Bravest Warriors is based on. Ward will be signing in the designated Comic-Con signing area in the Sails Pavilion on Saturday 1:30pm-2:30pm. In order to be eligible to participate in the signing, fans must come to the BOOM! booth (#2743) to obtain a ticket. In order to obtain a ticket for the Pendleton Ward signing, fans must purchase the Adventure Time #1 Pendleton Ward SDCC exclusive variant cover on Wednesday night, Thursday, or Friday during show hours. The tickets will be limited to 500 total and numbered. Ticket holders will be entered into a lottery for one of 30 guaranteed signing spots on Saturday. Winning ticket numbers will be posted at the BOOM! booth on Saturday morning. Winning ticket holders will be eligible to get one item signed by Ward.
