Over the Ropes and Show’s End continue in digital, with all-new #1 variants

This summer, Mad Cave Studios continues two series; Over the Ropes: Broken KayFabe and Show’s End: The Second Coming, will return as digital comics, with issue #1 of each print edition featuring variant covers by Will Robson and Tim Daniel.

The first 100 readers to subscribe will receive a variant with their series subscription, and the trade paperback is included; receiving all the digital issues monthly, and at the end of the arc, will have the full volume in your hands.

Welcome to volume two of Over the Ropes, the 1990’s pro-wrestling series. SFW’s hit TV show, Explode, takes the wrestling world by storm with champion, Phoenix, scoring big ratings while his girlfriend, Courtney, learns the ropes as new wrestler, Scorch. The gloves come off when a rival promotion led by Jason’s estranged father, Buddy Peacock, invades Explode. When Courtney’s injured, Jason must choose between family and fame in a bout with permanent stipulations. When the final bell rings, it’ll be Phoenix vs. Peacock– father vs. son, in a main event crowning a unified champion. Will Phoenix rise again or lose it all in a puff of smoke?

Show’s End: The Second Coming

What’s left of Daxton Rickles’ Circus is now performing on street corners to get by, but a series of mysterious murders surrounding our troop forces them to head south for safety in a town operated and occupied by circus performers.

However, the town is no longer what it once was. It is now ruled by a young, charismatic cult figure named Leviticus “Miss Levy” Jones, who believes those born “deformed” are the only ones truly perfect in the eyes of the creator. The longer the group stays, the more sinister the town is revealed to be.

Meanwhile, a forgotten figure from Loralye’s past lurks in the distance and is coming to reveal her true path. 

Mad Cave Studios Delays Two Titles Due to COVID-19

With concerns being raised in the comic industry, publishers are stepping up to do what they can to help the situation.

Mad Cave Studios has announced they’re delaying two upcoming titles that were to debut soon. Stargazer #1 will debut in August and Dry Foot #1 will debut in September.

Dear comic book retailers and fans,

Mad Cave Studios recognizes how important each of you are to the industry. We have been keeping an eye on the current situation with COVID-19 and working closely with our partners to see how we can adjust in order to help the community in any way we can.

Taking everything into consideration, Mad Cave has decided to delay two upcoming titles until the crisis we are currently experiencing has subsided. This means that Stargazer #1 will be delayed until August and Dry Foot #1 will be delayed until September. We feel that this is the best decision we can make in order to not put any added pressure on comic book retailers for the time being.

Titles like Wolvenheart, Savage Bastards, Over the Ropes, Hellfighter Quin, and Battelcats: Tales of Valderia will move forward as scheduled seeing as those orders have been placed and paid for. Mad Cave will continue to monitor the situation on a daily basis and update everyone accordingly.

During this unprecedented time in our history, it is more important than ever that we all support each other as much as possible.

With the fourth issue out this week, we’re kicking it off with Over the Ropes #1!

Wednesdays are new comic book day! Each week hundreds of comics are released, and that can be pretty daunting to go over and choose what to buy. That’s where we come in!

Each week our contributors choose what they can’t wait to read this week or just sounds interesting. In other words, this is what we’re looking forward to and think you should be taking a look at!

Find out what folks think below, and what comics you should be looking out for this Wednesday.

20XX #1 (Image Comics) – In a not-so-distant future individuals with telekinetic abilities form gangs to survive. The concept sounds interesting and Lauren Keely and Jonathan Luna being on this puts in over the top as in being on our radar.

Annihilation Scourge: Fantastic Four #1/ Annihilation Scourge: Nova #1 (Marvel) – The debut of this new chapter in Marvel’s cosmic tale had us interested and as fans of the originals, we’re excited to read more.

Butcher of Paris #1 (Dark Horse) – A historical true crime thriller about a serial killer in 1944 Nazi-occupied Paris.

Conan: Serpent War #1 (Marvel) – Robert E. Howard’s creations team up with… Moon Knight!?

Doctor Doom #3 (Marvel) – One of the best comics out there right now. The first two issues were amazing.

Excalibur #3/Marauders #3/X-Men #3 (Marvel) – Dawn of X has been interesting for the X-Men and we’re in for the entire first arcs to see where it all goes.

Ghost Rider 2099 #1/Veonm 2099 #1 (Marvel) – The 2099 event has been very hit and miss but still, as fans of the original world we want to see what else is coming.

James Bond #1 (Dynamite) – Vita Ayala and Danny Lore take on the classic character just as we’re about to see the trailer for the new film. As Bond fans, yes please!

Kill Whitey Donovan #1 (Dark Horse) – It sounds like a standard revenge tale but the cover and title has us intrigued to find out more.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #1 (BOOM! Studios/IDW Publishing) – The past team-ups with both groups have been a lot of fun and the idea of Tommy (the Green Ranger) joining forces with the Foot Clan has us beyond excited.

Over the Ropes #1 (Mad Cave Studios) – Set in 1990s wrestling, the series is the latst to dive into the world and examines it inside and outside the ring.

Spider-Man & Venom: Double Trouble #2 (Marvel) – The first issue was fantastic and unexpected. Full of humor and fun, we immediately wanted more.

Mad Cave Studios Releases an Early Look at Over the Ropes

Writer Jay Sandlin and artist Antonello Cosentino collaborate to explore the world of indie wrestling in the golden age of the sport, the 90’s. Over the Ropes is an underdog story of staying true to oneself in a world where ring personas often time bleed into reality. Sandlin and Cosentino craft a tale in which finding one’s true self may mean crafting a larger than life image inside of the ring.
