SDCC 2024: NO/ONE goes from comic and podcast to a feature film

Creative-collective studio Black Market Narrative and development and production company ZQ Entertainment are teaming up for a feature film adaptation of NO/ONE, the critically-acclaimed comic book series by Kyle Higgins, Brian Buccellato, and Geraldo Borges, and published by Image Comics, as well as its accompanying scripted podcast, WHO IS NO/ONE, which features a star-studded voice cast including Rachael Leigh Cook, Patton Oswalt, and Todd Stashwick. The Walking Dead infects Image’s covers in October with variants

Image Comics has announced a line of exciting team-up variants in celebration of Robert Kirkman’s The Walking Dead hitting its milestone 20 year anniversary. These variant covers will infect Image Comics titles all through October and feature Image artists’ unique interpretations of the iconic horror series’ characters.

The first nine Walking Dead team-up variants revealed this week feature artwork by such comics superstars as Skottie Young (on I Hate Fairyland #10), Declan Shalvey (on Time Before Time #28), Dean Rankin (on Untold Tales of I Hate Fairyland #4), Andrea Sorrentino (on Tenement #5), Stefano Simeone (on connecting variants for: No/One #7, Radiant Black #28 covers C & DRogue Sun #17, and The Dead Lucky #10).

The Walking Dead first launched in 2003 from Image Comics and garnered critical acclaim and an escalating sales track-record before Hollywood picked up the hot IP and the series was adapted from TV by AMC in 2010. It was also in 2010 that Kirkman teamed up with David Alpert to launch the multiplatform entertainment company, Skybound Entertainment, which would expand his—and others’—IP beyond comics into other mediums. The Walking Dead has since gone on to become a pop culture phenomenon inspiring everything from hit video games, novelizations, merchandise, and a multitude of multimedia spin-offs across the walker universe. NO/ONE’s first two issues head back for new printings

Hot new series NO/ONE by Kyle Higgins, Brian Buccellato, and Geraldo Borges has fans speculating what will happen next in this True-Crime-inspired caper. NO/ONE #1 has completely sold out yet again, NO/ONE #2 copies have been completely wiped out, and NO/ONE #3 reorders are already ramping up at record speed ahead of its on-sale date. Image Comics will rush the #1 and #2 back to print in order to keep up with escalating demand.

The NO/ONE #1, third printing will feature new cover art by Stephen Green and Mark Englert and NO/ONE #2, second printing will feature new cover art by Goni Montes. Fans should hustle down to their local comic shop in search of lingering printings on shelves and add the series to their pull-lists so as not to miss the jaw-dropping, face-melting twists to come.

So what’s NO/ONE about? This gritty, true-crime-style mystery follows The Richard Roe murders, which shocked the city of Pittsburgh. In the months since, the killings have sparked a dangerous political movement, copycat killers, and a masked vigilante who’s still determined to hold the powerful accountable. Not a symbol. Not a hero. They could be anyone. They’re NO/ONE.

NO/ONE is a ten issue comic book maxiseries joining Radiant Black, Rogue Sun, Radiant Red, The Dead Lucky, Radiant Pink, Inferno Girl Red, and C.O.W.L. in the expanding shared Massive-Verse and is perhaps the most unique, creatively boundary-pushing entry yet.

Available at comic book shops on Wednesday, May 17:

  • NO/ONE #2, second printing – Diamond Code MAR238293

The No/One, second printing will feature new cover art by Matteo Scalera and colored by Buccellato.
