Titan Comics Announces Showman Killer: The Golden Child

Titan Comics has announced that will be publishing The Golden Child, the second in the hit science fiction saga, Showman Killer.

By visionary writer and director Alejandro Jodorowsky with art from Nicolas Fructus this second in the series will feature the trademark esoteric flair and uncompromising vision that made the first in the series such a hit.

In a moment of madness, the heartless Showman Killer has found himself responsible for a helpless infant, forced upon him by the mysterious Ibis. The Showman Killer must unravel the mystery of the forces at work in the cosmos, and find out exactly why this child is so important.

Showman Killer: The Golden Child will be available in stores and ​on ​digital devices from May 18, 2016.

Review: Showman Killer: Heartless Hero

showmankiller_1-size-600Space is a dangerous place, made more so by the existence of the Showman Killer, a heartless assassin, genetically engineered by an insane scientist to be devoid of any emotion, and trained to kill!

The only things that give him anything approaching pleasure are destruction or money. That is, until a fateful mission throws him into the path of the mysterious and fascinating Ibis.

Well, Showman Killer: Heartless Hero is defiantly not a comic book for children, but the title I think gives away that much. The story by Alejandro Jodorowsky is dark, well written, and extremely violent. Despite the dark atmosphere the story has there are still some spots of adult humor.

The only thing I don’t like about the artwork by Nicolas Fructus is Showman Killer’s ears are oddly disproportionate to his face, it seems odd. Outside of that the artwork is superb. The main characters, and side characters are drawn with a degree of realism, that can be appreciated. However the artwork shares a balance between the light and the dark, in terms of color schemes. Of course red, is featured predominantly given the violence, and gore  of the story. There are other colors used but, they are mainly for background and characters.
