My Adventures With Superman #1 is a cute and fun start

My Adventures with Superman #1

Picking up from the explosive end of season one, Clark’s about to spend Christmas alone in Metropolis. Though he’s feeling a bit down and out, a tip about a monster in the sewers sends Superman, Lois, and Jimmy into action! But what is this monster that can absorb anything it touches, and why is it here in Metropolis? My Adventures with Superman #1 brings the beloved animated series to the comic page and it’s a hell of a lot of fun.

My Adventures with Superman #1 is a fun start with a comic that’s packed with kinetic energy that feels like it continues the flow of the animated series. Josie Campbell brings the series from the television screen to the comic page with a story that kicks off getting readers to know this version of Clark Kent. He’s very new and a bit socially awkward as he faces his first Christmas away from home. His co-workers think he’s a bit annoying while Lois and Jimmy do what they can to help save Christmas for Clark.

But, that’s not the main focus as a mysterious being is doing damage through the city and is wanted by the military. It all creates a debut issue that’ll entertain fans of the television show while allowing new readers to dive right in.

The art by Pablo M. Collar with color by Nick Filardi, and lettering by Lucas Gattoni captures the look of the animated series. The panels and pages pop with a style that’ll appeal to so many. There’s influence from throughout the ages and the comic’s tone in both story and art will appeal to younger readers. It delivers just enough danger without crossing the line that younger readers should stay away. The visuals themselves deliver some comedy, drama, and action, for a visual narrative that matches the youth of the characters.

My Adventures with Superman #1 is a fantastic start that will hopefully hook fans of the show and make readers of this want to check out the animated series it’s based on. A great start that left us with a smile on our face.
