Giant Days Returns in a Deluxe Hardcover From BOOM!

BOOM! Studios has announced the first of seven sturdy hardcovers collecting the entirety of the Eisner Award-winning slice-of-life comic series written by John Allison and illustrated by Lissa Treiman and Max Sarin with Giant Days Library Edition Vol. 1, collecting the first eight issues of the hit series!

The school year is just beginning at Sheffield University, jam-packed with new classes, professors, and places to explore… not to mention new clubs, cliques, and shenanigans galore!

For first years Daisy, Esther, and Susan, they’ve got new friends on lock, forming a tight bond from their first days as next-dorm neighbors. But learning to navigate life as brand new (almost) adults isn’t as easy as it looks.

Between old nemeses popping up, academic struggles, and new crushes on the horizon, it’s a good thing these three have each other to help survive Hall Balls, bantering lads, and drama vortexes (vortices?)!

The Giant Days Library Edition Vol. 1 collects the first eight issues of the Eisner Award-winning and Harvey Award-nominated series, along with an issue of the original webcomic and a brand new educational guide, all in a sturdy, deluxe hardcover! It will be available in comic shops August 23, 2023 and in bookstores September 5, 2023. Digital copies can be purchased from content providers, including comiXology, iBooks, Google Play, and Kindle.

Adam Cahoon joins The Nasty as the new series artist

Vault Comics has announced that Adam Cahoon will be the new series artist for The Nasty beginning with the third issue. Cahoon has already contributed art to the first two issues of The Nasty, written by John Lees with letters by Jim Campbell

Equal parts Friday The 13th, Giant Days, Empire Records, and The Ring, The Nasty is a story about the perception of evil, the power of genre, the love of fandom, the need to create art, oh, and crap-your-pants TERROR!

The Nasty follows eighteen-year-old Thumper Connell still has an imaginary friend: the masked killer from his favourite slasher film. Thumper is obsessed with horror and always has been. He fills his time with scary VHS rentals and hanging out with his fellow fans, The Murder Club. But everything changes when his local video shop acquires one of the notorious films known as “video nasties” – films so scary, they’re the target of the British Moral Decency League’s crusade to ban and burn. But it’s only a movie, right? It’s all just imaginary, isn’t it?

The Nasty #1 hits store shelves in March 2023, and will feature a full suite of gorgeously terrifying variant covers from some of the hottest artists in comics, including Killadelphia’s Jason Shawn Alexander, Giant Days’ Max Sarin, Nightfall: Double Feature’s Maan House, Door to Door Night by Night’s Sally Cantirino, Barbaric’s Robert Wilson IV, & more.

Don’t get mad, get oven… er even on The Great British Bump-Off from John Allison

Dark Horse Comics and John Allison whisk together a new Agatha Christie-style mystery set in the world of English competitive baking in The Great British Bump-Off. Max Sarin folds their art into John Allison’s scrumptious story, with Sammy Borras incorporating her color to create the light and fluffy, yet perfectly mixed new comic series.

When she enters her country’s most beloved baking competition, Shauna Wickle’s goal is to delight the judges, charm the nation, and make a few friends along the way. But when a fellow contestant is poisoned, it falls to her to apprehend the culprit while avoiding premature elimination from the UK Bakery Tent… and being the poisoner’s next victim!

The Great British Bump-Off issue #1 (of 4) springs into comic shops April 12, 2023. The first issue will also include a variant cover by Dan Hipp.

All four issues of The Great British Bump-Off will be collected in a paperback edition, available November 1, 2023. It will be available soon to pre-order at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and your local comic shop and indie bookstore.
