Massive Publishing adds Lunar Distribution and launches new sub-distribution initiative “Massive Indies” for independent publishers and self-published studios!

Massive Publishing has announced a new partnership with Lunar Distribution, for the direct market distribution of its titles and imprints, including its premium limited product brand Massive Select. Up until now, Massive’s library of titles was only available to comic shops through its distribution agreement with Diamond Comic Distributors. This new partnership will bring increased visibility to the Massive Publishing brand and expand its presence in the marketplace, while giving retailers more options on how to carry Massive’s upcoming releases and back catalog. Massive Publishing is also available to the book market through its exclusive book market distribution agreement with Simon & Schuster.e.

Part of this strategic partnership with Lunar Distribution is the launch of Massive’s newest initiative, Massive Indies, a sub-distribution program aimed at helping independent publishers and self-published studios get their books onto comic shop shelves worldwide. This will be an open platform for submitting titles for consideration in the Massive Indies solicitations of the Lunar catalog. Unlike the more common imprint model for publishers, this sub-distribution model will allow each publisher/studio to maintain their absolute independence and control over their publishing line. Massive is prioritizing publishers affected by the recent news of Diamond Comic Distributor’s Chapter 11 Bankruptcy filing but sees this as a possible game-changing process for creators to access the direct market without signing deals which compromise their intellectual property rights.

IDW’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Nation #1 gets a Massive Select exclusive Jim Lee’s X-Men #1 homage cover set

Massive Select, an imprint of Massive Publishing dedicated to producing limited run and premium edition variants, has collaborated for the first time with IDW Publishing to release this exclusive cover of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Nation #1.This four-piece connecting cover homages another familiar group of mutants with its tribute to Jim Lee’s legendary X-Men #1 connecting cover. The new offering is illustrated by Massive co-founder and artist Michael Calero.

The Cover set, all printed on the debut issue of the new IDW series, is limited to 500 bundles and can be pre-ordered now.

Massive Publishing and Printed In Blood announce a New Partnership Focused on High-End Artbooks

Printed In Blood, a boutique publisher who specialize in premium licensed artbooks, have entered into an exclusive distribution deal with Massive Publishing to service the direct-market and trade bookstores. Until now, Printed in Blood’s catalog of prestigious artbooks (including iconic titles such as John Carpenter’s The Thing, Aliens, Stranger Things, and Ghostbusters) were only available directly from the publisher and its crowdfunding campaigns. This new partnership is set to kick off in August with the highly anticipated retail release of two exquisite artbooks: Bernie Wrightson: A Tribute and the Hannibal: Artbook. These books promise to captivate audiences with their stunning visuals and devilishly charming content. Both titles are initially being offered as limited First Edition releases through Massive’s high-end collectables brand, Massive Select.

Bernie Wrightson: A Tribute showcases over 220 pages of newly created artwork paying homage to the legendary artist Bernie Wrightson (co-creator of DC Comics’ Swamp Thing). With contributions from industry giants such as Mike Mignola, Steve Niles, Jim Valentino, Bill Sienkiewicz, Thomas Jane, Tim Bradstreet, Dan Panosian, Dan Brereton, Kyle Hotz, and more, this collection celebrates Wrightson’s enduring legacy in the realms of horror and sci-fi illustration. From his iconic illustrations for Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein to his groundbreaking work in comics and animation, Wrightson’s influence continues to inspire artists around the world. A portion of all proceeds go to the family of Bernie Wrightson.

The Hannibal: Artbook features over 200 pages of meticulously curated artwork inspired by the celebrated TV series “Hannibal.” With a breathtaking cover by the talented Chelsea Lowe, this fully licensed collection will immerse fans in the dark and mesmerizing world of Hannibal, portrayed by Mads Mikkelsen. Massive Publishing is celebrating its 2nd anniversary by opening the vault in the April 2024 Previews Catalog for products on sale in June 2024. Massive is offering its most limited stock to retailers and local comic book shop’s customers.

Massive Select is a new division within the company that will offer rare specialty products, all-new top-tier collectibles, and never-before-seen collaborations with the industry’s top talent, Massive’s partners, and even other publishers.

The initial offerings of Massive Select includes David Mack’s limited-edition cover for The Exiled (featuring an incredible likeness image of series co-creator Wesley Snipes), A foil and metal edition of Toni Infante’s iconic Liquid Kill #1 cover artwork, A black & white variant of Sean Murphy’s North Valley Grimoire #1 variant cover, and other high-quality collectibles from Massive’s other top-selling series Alpha Betas, Quested, Astrobots and more.

Massive Select will also provide opportunities to other publishers to partner on all-new projects exclusively as high-end, limited releases, prestige formats such as foil and metal variants. The main motivation behind Massive Select, is to bring more revenue to its creative collaborators and produce unique collectibles for the fans which may not otherwise see distribution without this new release model.
