NYCC 2019: VIZ Media Announces New Manga, Novels, and More for 2020

VIZ Media expands its publishing catalog as it announced a wide range of new acquisitions set for summer 2020 release during its official panels held this past weekend at New York Comic Con.

New VIZ Signature titles arriving in summer 2020 include Maison Collector’s Edition, the definitive release of the classic Rumiko Takahashi series, Naoki Urasawa’s Mujirushi: The Sign of Dreams, and Ping Pong, the tale of two boys’ passion for table tennis from Eisner Award winner Taiyo Matsumoto. The inspiration for the Netflix Original series Kingdom, The Kingdom of the Gods, was also announced.

Shonen Jump titles announced at the Shonen Jump-dedicated panel include Masashi Kishimoto’s latest series Samurai 8: The Tale of Hachumaru; Act-Age, a gripping tale of an actor surviving her inner demons and Spy X Family, an action-packed comedy about a fake family that includes a spy, an assassin and a telepath. The official manga adaptation of the hit Rooster Teeth series RWBY: The Official Manga also receives a release as well as new novels from bestselling series Bleach, Naruto, and One Piece.

On the Shojo Beat side, new titles include Fushigi Yûgi: Byakko Senki, the final installment of the popular fantasy series and Not Your Idol, a thriller about a former idol dealing with a psychotic stalker.

Last but not least, the roster of titles includes How Do We Relationship?, a rom-com about two college women in a “fake” relationship, and the massive, full-color guide Monster Hunter: World – Official Complete Works, a must have for fans of the video game franchise.

Naruto Creator Masashi Kishimoto Returns with Samurai 8 in Weekly Shonen Jump

Samurai 8: The Tale of Hachimaru

VIZ Media has announced exciting new digital content for Shonen Jump with the launch of Samurai 8: The Tale of Hachimaru. Chapter 1 is available now for the highly-anticipated series by famed Naruto creator, Masashi Kishimoto, who teams up with his longtime assistant artist Akira Okubo. Samurai 8 debuted in English with a 72-page opening chapter on May 12th, the same day it launched in Japan. New chapters will be available to English readers for FREE on a weekly basis and via the Shonen Jump app.

Additional just-added manga content now available in the Shonen Jump digital vault includes fan-favorite series JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Parts 1-3 (Phantom Blood, Battle Tendency, and Stardust Crusaders), Golden Kamuy (Rated ‘M’ for Mature and web-only), and One-Punch Man. VIZ Announces Boruto: Naruto the Movie and Boruto: Naruto Next Generations

VIZ Media delivers the highly-anticipated home video release of Boruto: Naruto the Movie on March 28th, and will be followed by the Volume 1 launch of the Boruto manga series on April 4th.

Boruto: Naruto the Movie will be released as a Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack as well as a Standard Edition DVD. This exciting anime feature film adventure is based on the smash hit Naruto manga series created by Masashi Kishimoto and depicts the rebellious son of the legendary ninja who seeks to become an even greater ninja.

The Boruto: Naruto the Movie Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack will carry an MSRP of $29.98 U.S. / $34.99 CAN; the Standard Edition DVD-only Set will have an MSRP of $19.98 U.S. / $24.99 CAN. The film is highlighted by a stellar English dub cast featuring Amanda Miller (Boruto), Cherami Leigh (Sarada) and Robbie Daymond (Mitsuki). English subtitled with Japanese audio as well as English dubbed selections are available on both formats. Bonus features include clean closing segments and the original Japanese theatrical trailers.

The Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack will be released as a deluxe, 2-disc collection (1 DVD & 1 Blu-ray) that presents the anime feature film in crisp 1080p HD, 16×9 video. Notable bonus combo pack exclusive features include a NARUTO OVA (The Day Naruto Became Hokage) and a production art gallery. NYCC 2015: VIZ Media Details Naruto Manga Creator Appearances

MasashiKishmoto-SelfPortraitVIZ Media prepares to welcome Masashi Kishimoto, the renowned creator of the Naruto manga (graphic novel) series, for his first-ever U.S. appearance at the 2015 New York Comic Con and delights fans with today’s news that Kishimoto also will participate in a pair of signings sessions and in-store appearances as part of New York Super Week, co-sponsored by the Japan Foundation. The personal appearances will take place at the Manhattan locations of Kinokuniya Bookstore and Barnes & Noble Tribeca, on October 9th and 10th, respectively.

New York Comic Con, the crown jewel of New York Super Week, will take place October 8-11. The annual event is the East Coast’s biggest and most exciting popular culture convention with the latest and greatest in comics, graphic novels, anime, manga, video games, toys, movies and television.

A New Naruto Series Debuts in Today’s Weekly Shonen Jump
