Bloodland #5 gets things moving as some of the plot threads start coming together

Friends and fiends alike meet their end in this bloody thrilling installment of Bloodland! Heather returns to the Art League’s headquarters with one man down and an infant in tow, just as footage of her squad’s unforgiving hospital raid goes viral over the ragged remains of the internet and catches Son Cassidy’s attention. Could this be the beginning of a beautiful partnership?

Meanwhile, the Reverend Hawk showcases his rather… aggressive…recruitment tactics, and Ezra and Leopold show President Cross their grisly redecoration of the Vice President’s residence… and its terrifying new inhabitants.

Bloodland #4 has some solid concepts but attempts to cover too much in one issue

Leveraging her newly seized leadership of the Art League, Heather forges a dangerous vampire-killing mission in search of revenge and her kidnapped newborn; but as the grisly details of her past come to light, her new partners wonder if she’s to be followed… or feared.

A power struggle emerges as Heather’s new companions in the Art League wonder if she can be trusted as she plans to save the infants being held in the hospital. Soon, a shocking act shifts the balance of power within the group.

Meanwhile, it is becoming increasingly clear that not all members of President Andrew Cross’s inner circle support his decision to hand over control of the US government to the vampires of The White Cell. But in this lawless world, even a small act of rebellion can have major consequences.

Bloodland #2 gets interesting as a new resistance to the Vampires is revealed

The White Cell vampires pull the strings of power-hungry U.S. President Andrew Cross, and an underground resistance network evolves! Heather is taken in by a collective of individualist freedom fighters known as the Art League. They share revelations about her saga at the hospital, but her patience wears thin as they delay the search for her newborn son. Are these caretakers or just new captors?

Meanwhile, Son’s crew swaps intel with Blood Runners—dissenting vampires who have sworn off human blood but will never shake their menacing reputation—and the iron-fisted Reverend Hawk begins a savage secession campaign.

Bloodland #1 is an interesting concept but packs too much into the first issue

The United States is collapsing. And then there are the vampires.

President Andrew Cross is deep into an unconstitutional extended term, seized and shielded by executive orders, martial law, and a stacked Supreme Court.

With support splintering, Cross forges an alliance with a cabal of ancient European vampires. As the White Cell’s influence expands, the administration’s pursuit of power and blood purity transforms the landscape into a battleground between emboldened loyalists, aspiring demagogues, and colorful factions of dissenters.

Against it all, Army veteran Heather Brooks is a lone wolf on a warpath to find and avenge her newborn son who’s been sacrificed to the state; and retired pro quarterback Son Cassidy rallies an idealistic resistance. As their courses collide, the two leaders will tilt the odds and change the shape of a cross-country war for the soul of a nation.

NYCC 2025: The President Holds Onto an Unconstitutional Extended Term Supported by Vampire Bloodsuckers in Bloodland

Imagine the President of the United States abusing his power well into an unconstitutional extended term, shielded by broken systems and a party of loyalists. Now imagine that government fortified in their power by literal vampires. That’s the concept behind the new political, survivalist horror series from writer B. Clay Moore and Eisner Award-nominated artist Mack Chater, debuting from Ignition Press in Spring 2026. The series was announced during the publisher’s Retailer Day presentation at New York Comic Con. Moore and Chater began work on the series five years ago and it comes to comic shelves in early 2026.

This issue features two open-to-order covers from series artist Chater and Christopher Mitten, and a 1:5 variant cover by Andrea Sorrentino. The Bloodland Ashcan will be available in comic shops at the end of October.

SDCC 2015: Ignition Press announces 16 New Creators Joining its Lineup

At its inaugural panel at Comic-Con International in San Diego (SDCC), Ignition Press announced the addition of 16 creators to its talent lineup. The list of bestselling writers, artists, and cartoonists includes Eisner, Harvey, Glyph Comics, National Cartoonists Society Reuben, and GLAAD Media Award-winners and nominees.

During the “Doing Comics Differently with Ignition Press” panel at SDCC, Ignition Press revealed that Aneke, Aaron Campbell, Mack Chater, Rob Guillory, Phil Hester, Dennis Hopeless, Tini Howard, Sam Lotfi, Shawn Martinbrough, B. Clay Moore, Ande Parks, Khary Randolph, Brahm Revel, Will Rosado, Joanne Starer, and Dave Wachter all have projects in development.

Ignition Press has previously announced creators including co-founder and Creative Director Jeremy Haun, Cullen Bunn, Si Spurrier, Leah Williams, Stephanie Williams, Jim McCann, Tim Seeley, the Miranda Brothers, Stefano Simeone, Mike Tisserand, Marika Cresta, David Baldeón, Letizia Cadonici, and Joe Eisma in their lineup. On the eve of SDCC, the publisher announced multiple Emmy Award-winning screenwriter and producer Peter Murrieta was developing a project as well. Murrieta, who was a surprise guest on the “Doing Comics Differently with Ignition Press” panel, revealed the project would be “Chicano futurism” and did a live reading of prose inspired by the project. The announced creators’ projects, which will release in 2026, include a diverse range of genres and themes and include both first time creative collaborations and the reuniting of fan favorite creative teams. Reuniting teams include Seeley and Campbell, Moore and Chater, Guillory and Lotfi, along with Starer and Randolph. The publisher also indicated that a number of creators have multiple projects in development currently. Project titles and other details will be revealed at a later date.

Dark Horse presents Stranger Things: Tales From Hawkins II

In Hawkins, Indiana, nothing is as it seems. Dark Horse Comics and Netflix present new spooky tales featuring some of your favorite characters from Stranger Things in Stranger Things: Tales from Hawkins II! Each issue will be written by New York Times bestselling author Derek Fridolfs, colored by Dan Jackson, and lettered by Nate Piekos. Each issue will be illustrated by a different artist: Sunando C will illustrate issue #1, Bradley Clayton, will illustrate #2, Mack Chater will illustrate #3, and Vincenzo Riccardi will illustrate #4. Issue #1 will also feature cover art by Diego Galindo with variants by Vincenzo Riccardi, Mack Chater, and Ben Turner.

After shaking off a mysterious encounter with a strange “dog” while out at the Drive-In Cinema, Hawkins science teacher Scott Clarke is inspired to teach his students how 3D glasses work; this spirals into theories about alternate dimensions and how they might be perceived. Meanwhile, Dustin keeps secret that the weird “dog” could be nothing other than Dart, his missing pet demodog.

Future issues will also feature stories about Will Byers, Grigori, and the Demogorgon.

Stranger Things: Tales from Hawkins II #1 (of 4) arrives in comic shops on June 25, 2025. It is now available for preorder from your local comic shop for $4.99.
