The world of Keanu Reeves’ BRZRKR expands with licensing representative IMG

BRZRKR, BOOM! Studios’ record-breaking comic book series created by actor Keanu Reeves and co-written with New York Times-bestselling comic book writer Matt Kindt, has appointed IMG as its exclusive global licensing representative to develop engaging consumer products and experiences for the series’ growing fanbase.

The ongoing comic book franchise evokes themes and characters from some of Reeves’ fan-favorite films such as The Matrix, John Wick, and Bill & Ted. Illustrator Ron Garney, known for his work on The Amazing Spider-Man and Captain America, breathes life into B., the series’ Keanu Reeves lookalike protagonist, as he undertakes violent battles in a quest to unearth the truth about his cursed immortal existence. BRZRKR’s first issue launched in 2021 and went on to sell 615,000 copies, making it the second best-selling comic of the 21st century, second only to Stars Wars #1 (2015) and the highest-selling original comic book launch in nearly 30 years. Soon after, the series announced an upcoming live-action film and a follow-up anime show in partnership with Netflix, and a new original novel to be published by Random House.

Now, the BRZRKR universe is set to expand further following a multi-year deal with licensing giant IMG. IMG will develop a range of consumer products and experiences that will allow fans to engage with the series’ distinctive themes in new ways, including through apparel and accessories, collectables, toys, food and beverage, and location-based experiences.

Keanu Reeves is represented by WME, part of the Endeavor network alongside IMG.

Franklin Sports And Marvel Entertainment Team Up For Super Hero Inspired Sporting Goods Line

New York, April 14, 2011—Franklin Sports, a leading provider of sports equipment, and Marvel Entertainment, LLC, a global character-based entertainment licensing company, have announced today a licensing agreement to develop a collection of high quality sporting goods featuring Marvel’s legendary Super Heroes. The announcement was made on behalf of Franklin president Larry J. Franklin and Marvel Entertainment’s President of Consumer Products for North America Paul Gitter.

The Marvel products created by Franklin will include a wide-variety of sports including baseball, basketball, boxing, football, hockey, soccer, tennis and indoor and outdoor games featuring Marvel Classic properties and upcoming feature films from Marvel Studios such as Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger and The Avengers. Initial product will be available to consumers for the holiday season in 2011.

Franklin. “Marvel Super Heroes complement our existing entertainment licenses and give us the sporting goods industry’s most powerful entertainment program. iHip Marvel Headphones – Tinny as Iron Man

I went on a bit of a kick picking up some headphones this weekend with Marvel branding from iHip. The headphones look pretty cool and there’s two types, one with Captain America and the other with Iron Man. For $10, I said why not, I can show off my geek cred as I listen to music and read comics on my iPad. And the packaging sucked me in with a great cover to a Captain America comic. Boy, what a waste of $10.

These headphones have to be some of the worst I’ve ever listened to music with. It was as if the music was being piped through a tin can. It was distant, missing the surround sound excellence I expect from an Apple product. The packaging says “noise isolating,” I just didn’t think it was the music I was trying to listen to. It also says “engineered for quality listening,” this is clearly a lie. “Engineered for a lacking musical experience” is more like it.

Marvel should be embarrassed they’ve put their name and brand on such a piece of shit product. I’m angry at myself for dropping $10 on it and being sucked in by cool packaging.

Do yourself a favor and avoid these at all cost.
